"happy halloween!" haeku exclaimed, waving a goodbye as her friends drove away. her halloween party had been successful again this year - her decorations were gorgeous, her food was scrumptious - and she was certainly excited to eat all of the leftover goodies she had prepared. the chips, the pumpkin seeds, the ribs, the candy...the possibilities were nearly endless for what she should start with. picking up an m&m, she plopped it into her mouth lazily as she closed the door. but as as she shut it, a sudden thought hit her from something she had seen out of the corner of her eye.

haeku's eyes lit up in shock as she remembered something she had forgotten about earlier. "oh no!" she gasped, whipping the door back open and looking out to examine where her favorite succulents usually sat on the front porch to bathe in the sun. instead of being bright as usual, they were turning a deep brown and starting to wilt, which made haeku shutter with remembrance.

it was cold, much colder than it usually was around this time of the year, and haeku had accidentally left her plants where they would freeze overnight during the sudden cold snap. she had been so occupied with halloween festivities that she had completely forgotten to take them inside, and now they were dying. she was afraid that she might not be able to revive them this time.

dashing outside, haeku tugged the pots into her arms in a fury before running back inside where it was warm. she placed them by a small heating lamp, turning it on and taking a deep, nervous breath. what if she was too late? what if she couldn't save them? no, she had to push those thoughts to the back of her mind. she would save these plants no matter what; she was not about to give up now. through patient care, her plants would surely be able to recover, but what a scare that had given her; she loved her plants like children. losing one would have been horrid.

Prompt 4

Elliot dropped his bed with a sigh, the long night having totally exhausted him and all he wanted to do was crawl in bed and sleep but the little voice inside was nagging at him to clean up his apartment. He groaned pulling off his coat and hanging it up and attempting to right the mess of a desk he had left before his friend had unfortunately dragged him out to go costuming when all he wanted to do was work on overdue work. After cleaning his desk, writing the wrong he'd left before he went. Then he turned to his satchel, the small lump hanging in the bottom when he'd thrown it on the coat rack with his coat. He grabbed it, deciding it would be best not to leave anything inside his bag for the whole night. He emptied it onto his desk not expecting what he'd have inside. A few pieces of candy, chocolate mostly, a lollipop and some gum he hadn't remembered but then again it wasn't surprising when people had been asking him to hold things the whole time for some reason. He smiled, not because he enjoyed the candy but because he felt sorry for those who took part in it, candy eating that is. A sort of pity he couldn't help, after all, who in their right mind would eat something so bad for their mouth and body. After a bit of pondering why people enjoyed candy so much he threw it in the trash, no candy for him.

Valence's trick or treating had gone amazingly- many Kalons had been quite impressed by the little guy's costume. He had gone as Nikola Tesla, with a little fake moustache and a slicked back wig. He was quite dapper in a suit, too- he'd even brought along a little stuffed pigeon for extra effect. Tesla was a fascinating guy, and he had some very interesting quirks. Not to mention, he had loads of interesting ideas that Valence was super taken by.

And, clearly, people had eaten it up. He now sat on his bed in his room, dividing his candy into piles. Nothing too specific in the piles- more ordering it in order of preference. The popcorn balls he tossed towards the "dislike" side, while the few precious packs of gummy bears he scooted over towards his favorites. Most of the chocolate candy was in the middle, with Kit-kats edging their way upward and the coconut-flavored stuff heading towards the bottom. Even with it all lined up like this, there was still a great pile of various kinds. This could last him until Christmas if he was careful!

He hid away a couple of his absolute best snacks under his bed in a little tin. His siblings could steal the coconut ones.

Hassium's eyes flicked as he blinked as the smoke from the rising fire burned his eyes a little and looked at Acid, "Its so pretty but Pretty hurts." He squinted a little as he watched the fire. Hassium began to move back from the fire and yawned a little. Halloween this night was different to any of his others. Sitting in a window, watching the kids run around with candy was a distant memory next to Acid and their fire. "Can we get some candy on the way back?" Hassium said softly.

Acid glanced at him, "No need to waste our time with stops." Acid said simply and although sad to leave the creation, the pair walked back towards the place they were standing and Acid waved his paws, "Close your eyes." Hassium followed the command and shut his eyes for a moment before he felt a tap on the shoulder, "Hidden Candy."

Hassium opened his eyes and looked at Acid, already containing a lollipop in his mouth, Hassium laughed and grabbed a lollipop, placing it in his mouth, "Mmm. Sweetness." The pair continued to eat from the back of hidden candies long into the night until the sugar sent them crashing. Asleep side by side, lollipops in mouth, Halloween drifted away.

Everest went trick or treating in his wonderful homemade gryphon costume, well more or less. He's very introverted so his form of trick or treating is going around smaller neighborhoods looking for the houses with a bowl of candy sitting on their porches with the little take one signs. He always took whatever number they told him to take so he ended up with only like 20 pieces of candy. He also ended his evening early when he approached a house that had a bowl of candy on a table with a big skeleton sitting next to it. He was feeling brave because the bowl had some king sized kit kats, his favorite candy, and he walked right up to the bowl. Just as he grabbed his kit kat bar the skeleton came to life jumping up and wiggling around. It scared him so much he leaped backward and, still clutching his kit kat, ran all the way home. He later looked at his candy hoard and saw he had some milky ways, candy corn, butterfingers, gumdrops, and a few other different candies, he even had a pack of pretzels. He sat at home and munched on his goodies while watching HIMYM for the rest of the night.

"TRICK OR TREAT!!" two young kalons happily asked for candy from their neighbors. The twins were well known over the neighborhood. Mostly because they're total opposites. Tocka was well known for her tricks and happy behaviour while Yuki was known for her sensitive smile. But that never stopped them from getting what they want. Three treats were dropped into their bags of candy, and they both said thank you. Many other parents and kits looked at them, due to their gory outfits.

Tocka was dressed as a killer teddy bear and Yuki was dressed as a bloody daffodil. Tocka snickered as they walked back home. "Don't do it, Tocka." Yuki repremanded her sister. "What? I haven't done anything!!" Tocka smiled. "YET. I know you Tocka. You're gonna find a way to get more candy. You won't even be able to eat half of those, you're lactose intolerant!!" Tocka only snickered again. Yuki sighed, knowing there was no way to stop her twin.

"You see, dear Yuki, everyone trick-or-treats at houses but that's not the only place where you can get candy," Yuki raised an eyebrow. "There are schools, churches, convinience stores, gyms and museums ,to name a few, where other kids are too blind to get some candy. And I've got connections!" Tocka boasted. Yuki rolled her eyes. "Of course you do." she said as they neared the gym. "Ah, Tocka! Year 3 and going! I still don't get why kids don't go here for candy, we're a nice gym!" the employee said. She placed in two bags of fully-loaded gummy worms per bag. "And this must be Yuki!" they said thank you and left.

"How come you never brought me to these places?" Yuki demanded an answer. "You're always cranky by 7:30 and want to go home, so I go by myself. And it's 7:30 right now, I can bring you to other places if you're up to it?" the purple kalon had a sarcastic tone and Yuki simply huffed. While walking they bumped into theor batch mate, Stewart. Almost immediately Stewart and Tocka exchanged looks and Stewart handed her a plastic bag full of candies. "Darn, I hate having to go outside for candies but my mom want me to get some fresh air, y'know? " Tocka looked inside the bag given to her and was very pleased. "I hear ya, thanks Stew." they shook paws. "No problem."

Yuki had a face of shock and Tocka smiled. "That's what I mean by connections. Stewart HATES candy, despises the stuff. So we made an agreement that he could go out while I get the candy." Yuki had no words. They did their secret hunting for candy until 10:00 and then they started to really go home. They knocked on their own door and their uncle Arturo answered and dropped full sized snickers into their bags. He winked and let them go to their rooms.

"AND THAT'S HOW I GOT THE CANDY I SWEAR MOM!!" Tocka cried out. Their mom crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. She looked at Yuki for the truth. "Yes, that's how she got the candy." Their mom knew Yuki doesn't lie so she left their room not before she got some snickers.

"You're gonna get sick with all this candy, Tocka."
"I know, but I still have some extra gummy wormsssss!!" To ka hummed and shared with her sister.

Prompt 4

(I will be using Arsen for this one)

Arsen was disappointed in himself, shaking his head and pacing. He wasn't much of a sweets kind of guy, but he hadn't eaten a single piece of candy on Halloween. All the stores in the town he had stayed near were closed, and the closest thing to a sugary candy bar was at the gas station. But Arsen knew rather well that the candy held inside the small station was as stale as his jokes.

Arsen was never one to have a sweet tooth, but he made an exception on Halloween. Lollipops were his main goal, but the sour gummies he would sometimes buy were also extremely tasty. Arsen sat down on the cabins dusty couch, coughing as some of the particles entered his throat. He relaxed there for a moment, thinking about if it would be worth it to head back into the town just to try and find some candy, but Arsen knew that he couldn't. Not with that plague doctor guy roaming around.

Arsen sighed, tired and exhausted from the day's activities. He got up from his spot on the couch, trudging to his bedroom with a less than satisfied stomach and crawled into bed. He allowed himself to enjoy the warmth for a few moments, before slipping into a deep and comfortable sleep.

Aiko got loads of candy this year! Almost half were candy she doesn't like, like snickers, but that's alright. One of her Halloween goals is to see if she can get more candy than last year.

Actually, it's quite a disappointing story.
Well, Kujaku was so busy trying to catch the great pumpkin ghost of the empty lot that he missed trick-or-treating completely!
It was getting late and he was getting tired. Soon enough, he fell asleep within the giant pumpkin and no one dared to try waking him up since they all believed in the stories of misfortune coming from disturbing the pumpkin. Since this was so, Kujaku was never informed of the end of trick-or-treating and was only found when his babysitter Yachi went searching for him once he hadn't returned by curfew. When they finally returned back home, Kujaku sadly discovered that his trick-or-treating before he fell asleep in the pumpkin only came to about five meager pieces of hard or melted candy that wouldn't be pleasant to eat any more. And even worse, he didn't catch the ghost either! Oh well . . . better luck next time . . .
