      Breedings: he is a child.

Age: Child (human equivalent around 9)
Size: Quad, about the size of an adolescent cat. Anthro, probably about 5 feet tall and a lil chub.
      Traits: Standard Custom Tail Shine
Accessories: In human/anthro form, he has a lot of science-related t-shirts. Several from science camp, and one like this.

Quote: "Electricity is the path to future!"
      MBTI: ISTP
      Playlist: Here!
Likes: Experiments, video games, fun t-shirts
Dislikes: Being limited with his creativity, not having access to information, not understanding things

Full Personality: Bubbly and friendly, loves science. He's a huge fiend for soaking up all the information he possibly can, because learning is really fun to him. Though he's introverted, that doesn't mean he's all that shy- he just prefers making friends with people who share interests with him instead of just anyone. He can babble on for hours about his hobbies and interests if he finds the right person. But at the end of the day, he still likes to go home and settle down with a text book and read quietly for a while. Or at least look at the nice pictures and try to puzzle through a few of the words.

He's a very smart kid, and naturally a little gifted. That being said, he's not a total genius- just a little above average and very motivated by his favorite subjects. He'll often forget himself in his passion, though. It comes to him sometimes having to scribble down writing homework or somesuch at the very last minute because he was distracted by his science projects. Clearly he's a Kalon of his interests, though, and he takes those very seriously. Even if it may seem a bit silly to others that he puts all his eggs in one basket, he really does enjoy the work.

      Relationships:
gyrre sprocket (owned by takura) - mother
she's very sweet and supportive of her son's hobbies. though valence isn't the biggest nature walk kid, he'll still go on walks with her if no one else will because he doesn't want her to feel lonely. gyrre worries a lot about his safety, but he always assures her that he's gonna be fine.
corsair sprocket (owned by takura) - father
valence loves hanging out with his dad whenever he can/dad isn't busy, because corsair knows a lot of fun things. corsair is really happy to see that valence has found a hobby he loves so early on, and is really good about making sure he can follow his dreams.
avalon sprocket (owned by cryogenic) - older sibling
valence isn't much for the natural things, as previously said, and finds avalon a little boring. still, they're family, and so he cares about them.
cedar sprocket (owned by supernovacity) - twin
cedar is more outgoing and reckless than valence, so they're always the more popular kid at school. the two are pretty different, even if they are twins. again, valence cares a lot about them as their sibling, but their interests don't line up much.

Backstory: It isn't everyone that figures out their passion when boredly shuffling across a carpet on a cold winter day.

      Valence isn't everyone.

Ever since he was a kid, Valence has been thoroughly intrigued with electricity. The way it flows, provides energy, and dominates modern life... the elegance, natural power and rules of the system, it just clicked with him. His obsession started out with the potato battery, bending water with a static-y balloon, and lifting things with magnets. But it escalated, and soon he was making little circuits with 9-volt batteries, wire and lightbulbs, and eventually even managed to learn how to wire his own little plastic racing cars to run on watch batteries. This was the start of something he's loved his whole life.

The precise minute he was old enough to be eligible, Val begged his parents every day to send him to Summer Science Camp. He wanted to learn like the big kids- to do real experiments, have lots of fun, and most of all, meet other kids who liked science like him! Avalon was more into nature than electronics and his twin sibling was far more outgoing than he, and so they had already carved out their niche in the friends department and had less time for him. He begged and begged and begged his parents to let him sign up, and eventually, they caved- the kit just wanted to learn, there was nothing wrong with that.

And, wouldn't you know it, Valence ended up loving Science Camp. There were lots of other Kalons there who were passionate about learning things about the world around them, and having fun while doing it. It was sad to have to say goodbye to so many kids he by now considered close friends- at least, goodbye until next year. Of course, Valence had so much fun, he ended up returning to camp again and again every year to take all of the available classes and to meet up with the other little science-loving Kalons who did the same. Not the kindest choice to his parent's wallets, but he was having fun and learning too- so they got used to it, since his little heart would break if they didn't let him go.

In the downtime between school and camp, Valence found a lot of fun in playing retro games. Modern video games just didn't appeal to him the same way older ones did- he likes to keep things simple and skill based. Instead of watching just any TV programs, he was the kind of kid to go to the library and rent a bunch of educational VHS tapes instead. He loves learning and being challenged- so he did very well in school as a child. In fact, he was put into gifted classes often, which both he and his parents are very proud of.

His heart is quite set on becoming an Electrical Engineer when he grows up, and he and his parents wouldn't have it any other way.
