Hi again! I think I introduced myself earlier?
...what's the carrot thing again? I can't remember XD.
Anyways, I have a lot of opportunities to be a lazy writer because I'm in a high school/program kind of thing for writing, and it's pretty intensive. (that's the right usage right) Now we're doing short stories and I have to come up with the beginning of one, and some characters, pretty soon. Oh, but earlier we were doing poetry and I finished four poems so... here's one of those, I guess:
My Aunt, Who Was Surrounded by Butterflies
She came in November
in a cloud of yellow wings,
her smile the thin surface of ice
on deep water.
The butterflies gave her a fluttering glow,
rested in her hair.
When she laughed they took flight
like breezeblown petals, swirling.
On the last day of the month,
standing in our bare backyard that waited for snow,
she whispered. “Please.”
They clung to the sleeves of her red sweater,
tugged, wings heartbeat quick.
She rose slowly, floating above crushed, dead leaves,
arms spread,
staring through pale blue
to stars folded in blackness.
No, I have no idea what's going on here. I originally had an ending where she came back down to the ground and this whole metaphor thing, but my teacher said I should end it here and, well, I guess it
is more interesting that way.
