Saaaaame.
I'm honestly a bit nervous for the movie, but my excitement is winning me over more than my fears. I try to look on the bright side of things. In all honesty I don't think this movie is going to be the next big blockbuster, but once it gets made it will probably open up a lot of doors like new fans and also possible movie tie in merch.
As far as violence goes I don't think it's going to be particularly graphic, but I don't think they're going to water it down too much either especially since much of the violence is integral to the narrative. I'd also like to point out that the company that is looking into making this is a Chinese one and given that it's a non-western company they might be more open to allowing violence in a film geared towards this age group.
As for storytelling... the thing that makes me nervous is that they might go the Guardians of Ga'hoole route and try to condense the first couple books into its own movie which would be pretty messy and confusing imo. I saw someone say that the best route was to make a movie for one of the super editions first -- they suggested Bluestar's Prophecy in particular. I think something like that would work out better than condensing several books of the original series, but we'll just have to see what path they take!

Personally I don't think the violence will be watered down very much, if you look at movies like the Hunger Games, the violence is not that watered down, and I think the same thing could happen in the Warriors movie. The main thing I'm worried about is characters, and trying to cram multiple books into one. I honestly would not care that much if the violence was watered down, as long as it's not completely dead since violence is something fairly important in warriors. I'd go on a rampage if they crammed books together, left out characters, or tried cropping things out.

Oh gosh. Please don't let them take the GOG route! I loved the book series but the movie was horrid!

Nonono, the Warriors movie will be animated. Animated movies practically have to be aimed toward some a family audience, which includes children, so about 90%, if not more of the violence in Warrior Cats will have to be watered down. Hunger Games was not made for children, THATS why there is so much violence in it that wasn't removed.
At MOST, the movie will be rated PG 13+, and that is a huge risk in the movie making business, making an animated movie that isn't acceptable for children.

I guess you do have a point there

Hm. I was under the impression that even if it were animated the Erins would be going for a more realistic look. If I'm recalling correctly at one point they said they wanted their cats to be animated in a similar way to Aslan in the Narnia movies.
With all of the "realistic" disney movies coming out, especially the Lion King coming up, I could see them going down a path like this. It would still be animated, but probably leave more room for "violence". And again, the company making it is a non-western one so they may be able to get away with more violence. Some countries are more lax with stuff like that.

I wish I could be excited for a Warriors movie 'D
I'm aware lots of characters will have to be cut, it'll take a long time to
create, and there's no guarantee about what lengths of the books the movie
will be over. I really do hope it ends up being a great movie, but I probably
won't be watching it in the end.

agh,i just don't know what to say about the movie!
i'd honestly love it to be like the Narnia movies with all impressing animation and-
yeah, indeed,i have to admit that i would have felt way happier if Warriors was in the hands of a bigger and more experienced film-making production, but i'm overreacting a bit too much.
i'm having way too high expectations, but of course anyone would want a perfect movie on one of the books you love alot.
ahh,a side of me is really anxious, but we hardly know anything about the studio making it AND we don't SURELY know if it will be made. they're only in pre-production,and it may or may not be dropped, but hopefully it gets past that and becomes a nice movie. they recently just got the rights to make it so..
but,a film can bring a new audience and broaden the community ( quote from tenelle's video )
and at the same time another side of me is feeling like:
aM I DREAMING?? AM I DEAD?? IS THIS STARCLAN?? IS STARCLAN GETTING A WARRIORS MOVIE?!
anyway,i've found a few arcticles and some quotes..
“Alibaba Pictures is planning to turn ‘Warriors’ into a film franchise that will bring to life the spectacular animal and jungle worlds depicted in the novels, using world-leading visual effects,” said APG president Zhang Wei.
"film franchise"? the first thing that comes to mind is a series of films. this is a bit confusing. 1 movie? more movies? are they gonna make a movie on 1 book? is it gonna be into the wild, the first and the classic,or will they pick some other book from the series such as the extra-editions? will they gather more books and just mash them into one movie, like the first series? ( Into the Wild+Fire and Ice+Forest of Secrets+the other Storm book )?
the way they so confidently worded it kind of gives me a bit more trust in them. i mean,no one normal would go around like "Yeah,we're making a super nice movie with amazing effects and all!" and then make an animated movie that looks like a cheap budget anime with 2 frame lip-syncing.
But is it going to be animation? As in normal cartoon? Or 3D animation? I may be mistaken,I just woke up this morning with a notification and boom: Warriors movie! If I made any mistakes, please correct me.
