Well it's simple because he lives in a haunted house and he talks to them. He's always been interested in the
supernatural/paranormal but it wasn't till he moved into his new home he realized ghost seemed to want to
communicate with him. He often just sits in the living room chatting away with them, he has tons of special
equipment for them to speak to him with and none of the ghost in his home are bad just lonely like him.
The ones that talk to him the most are usually the spirits of other sheer's or of children.

Ricky does believe in ghosts, but not in the sense that they are trapped souls or anything. He feels like when someone dies they continue existing on Earth even after death, but only some decide to show themselves and be known. The reason he thinks so is that he believes his mother is watching over him. She died when he was very little, and ever since he has been seeing signs pointing to her still being around the house. He'll find books bookmarked by receipts, a habit his mother had picked up after not being able to find anything else suitable in her car to mark her page. He'll wake up in the middle of the night to hear the tv on in the living room; his mother never could fall asleep if it was silent. So yes, he does believe in ghosts, but not in the traditional sense. [149/150]

When Curtis was young, he was very close with his grandfather. His grandfather, however, was always very eccentric and superstitious. He would tell Curtis all the reasons he had in believing in things most people didn't, ghosts included. He had Curtis wrapped around his finger, and Curtis believed every word of it. But when his grandfather began to get sick, he promised Curtis that he would show him signs that he was watching over him when he passed. Unfortunately, when his grandfather was gone and time went on, Curtis watched and waited but never experienced anything that he thought was from his grandfather. Since then, his belief has diminished. However, while he no longer believes in ghosts, he still loves the idea of them. Nowadays he reads any ghost stories he can get his hooves on, and even writes ghost stories from time to time.

When he was a child, he suffered from sleep paralysis,
which is basicly dreaming while awake,
and he didn't know he had it for a long time.
One of the most common dreams for him were ghost swirling around him,
taunting and insulting him.
He thought they were real,
and caused him to lose a lot of sleep,
despite already losing sleep.
Soon he had enough of it and told his mother about these ghosts,
and other previous dreams,
who soon came to the conclusion of contacting a doctor.
The doctor told him he suffered from sleep paralysis,
and that they weren't real,
just an illusion made by his mind.
He eventually stopped believing ghost were real,
after being wrong about the ghosts in his sleeping state,
so he didn't believe in ghost stories sheers told,
as well as so called "real footage of ghosts!!1!"
