Although many would look at this quote through purely negative eyes, for Aesara it is far different. Aesara doesn't
feel like 'monsters' are any different than anyone else and, as an author, much of her character inspiration comes
from this quote. Even still, she can't help but see all of the negativity within herself and the world. Aesara is no
stranger to depression, or to getting called out for her less conventional appearance. It isn't rare for her to get
told that she's less likely to get friends or a job because of how she looks. She hopes that her writing will put out
the message that everyone has flaws and we're all monsters of sorts, so judging others for their differences is just
ridiculous.

The quote, which is ancient, traditionally being written in latin, has been interpreted many different ways. But when she read it the first time, she felt something spark inside her. Her personal interpretation is simply "worldly things are fleeting" which she finds comforting, in an odd way. She has some intense anxiety, and gets worried over little things. Whenever she starts freaking out over something she regrets saying, or is unsure what to do, she thinks back to this quote. Because she thinks of the fact that things are fleeting, life goes on, worldly matters aren't forever. She thinks of how she will make it through, she will get through her day, week, year, and even if things feel terrible now, worldly things are fleeting. and she knows this probably isnt what the saying was supposed to mean but she doesn't care, she has found her own meaning.
