What's behind their back?: a large, orange, shellacked maple leaf. she always carries it around, no matter where she goes. it was from the tree in the backyard of the house she grew up in. as soon as she turned 18, she moved out of the house and broke all contact with family. she is now 27 and regrets it. she can't find any family member, and this maple leaf is the only thing she has to remember them by

History + Personality: Bram lives in a inn in a tiny town that is a major stop for many different people from different towns. How did he end up in such a small town? Easy: he was left in the middle of the road there. The previous owners of the inn found him on the dirt road and took him in. He grew up as a general servant at the inn, taking on odd jobs wherever he was needed--cleaning rooms, caring for horses, serving drinks, etc. He was never unwanted or even really mistreated (beyond the stray horrible customers), but neither was he loved. The owners of the inn were in no way his family and the staff of the inn changed often as people found better paths of life. However, Bram never had any interested in leaving. Instead, he learned many... special skills. Bram quickly became a thief, or rather, a kleptomaniac. He found himself drawn to small amounts of coins and shinies and picked them up wherever he saw them. Lucky for him, he seemed to be born with quick fingers and he was never caught (although the inn owners had their suspicions). When the inn owners died, Bram was the one left with it. He was a natural, charismatic, and yet he kept to himself (something the customers liked). When dealing with customers, he speaks smoothly, completely in control of the situation while using his light fingers to rid them of any small shiny objects they may have on them that they won't miss. He has many regulars that love him and the inn. When dealing with employees or anyone else, he is very blunt and lacks patience. He'll never repeat himself and has very little charity with his employees or people who can't afford to stay in his inn. He will turn away anyone who can't pay no matter the circumstance. It would be easy to call Bram 'corrupt' although perhaps the term isn't correct. He more just has a very loose moral code; as in, the only person he's interested in protecting is himself. Recently, Bram was attacked by an employee attempting to rob him. To make a long story short, Bram overcame his attacker by killing them. His reputation in town has gone down because of this incident because of the fact that he shows very little remorse for this incident. Behind closed doors, Bram is having nightmares about it but he'd rather been seen as heartless than weak. However, weakness might just be coming his way...
Behind the Back?: A very small baby. Bram recently discovered a tiny wrapped bundle, inside was a little baby girl, whom he's since decided that, because there's nothing better to do with her, he's going to keep. While he planned on merely planned on raising her much like he was raised, as she gets older, he's beginning to realize that might not be an option. She's much too friendly and clingy to him. And he might just kind of, sort of, be getting attached.

and the fact that a child was hidden behind his back!! I also love the
