In the past they used "I" when speaking even when referring to both heads

We were there at the birth of creation. The moment she made the world? Was beautiful, it took our breath away. The two of us helped when she asked us to. We were responsible for light

She smiled and all we could do was stare at her in awe.

"Who are you?" We asked as one, for back then right after our birth we were more of the same person than the two separate ones that share this body nowadays.

" My name is Cerridwen and I need help from the two of you" she replied and gently took our hands and clasped them between her own. I glanced at him and he glanced back at me, we blinked identical green eyes before answering the goddess in front of us.

"I don't understand, what could I do?" Our question as bemused as the expression upon our faces. She laughed gently and squeezed our hands before gesturing toward a spherical constant containing very dim looking energy.

"Why don't the two of you go and see what you may be able to add to this" she told us softly and pointed toward the swirling energy.

With slow movements we made our way over to the construct and reached out. After a moments hesitation we placed the palm of our right hand on the construct and focused hard. Both of us were forced to look away moments later as a bright golden light flared from deep within the swirling vortex. The energy contracted and then exploded outward in a wave of force that sent us skidding backward. We tried our best to shield our eyes from the gleam but it was difficult to cover them with only one hand each.

Sooner rather than later, the light settled to a gentle glow and the spherical construct once more held the now much more vivid energy in place. We were unfortunately left attempting to blink colored shapes away from our vision, as Cerridwen silently came forward and examined the energy. Changing the angle she was looking from every so often. Something seemed to click with the tall figure as she smiled and moved to stand in front of us, before gently and carefully ruffling the hair on our heads.

We blinked slowly at her, more baffled than ever when she gave us a conspiratorial wink and stretched out one arm towards the swirling energy. A beam of shimmering swirling colors shot and struck her hand and she stepped back a ways in order to allow a beam to hit her other hand. Once both hands were occupied, Cerridwen began to spin the light spinning up and around her slowly forming a gleaming cocoon of shifting gleaming colors.

We gaped on as the cocoon tightened and then unraveled in a shimmering display of power. Ethereal Butterfly wings of pure energy held Cerridwen aloft. Gleaming ribbons of energy swooped around us changing the environment before our very eyes. The land began to change, where before there was nothing but grey mist was now lush green grass as far as we could possibly see.

Things were flashing into view all around us as Cerridwen worked, the strange objects becoming more solid as time passed. We leapt back in surprise as icy tendrils of phantom water lapped over our feet, both pairs of green eyes stared suspiciously at the body of water that grew steadily larger. Upon deeming it harmless we turned our gaze back to Cerridwen as she continued creating this wondrous place. We could hardly imagine that we had contributed to this beautiful thing, a world was it?

Either way watching her work was breathtaking. We had no words to describe how we felt, elation maybe or perhaps joy? Content with watching we settled onto the floor and allowed light to bathe us in gentle warmth.

End of the past

I sighed heavily staring out over the world from our mountain hideaway.

"Honestly Onyx, why you insist we stay up here I'll never know" I grumbled and rested my chin on my hand.

"Cerise" my brother warned, poking me in the side of the head. My expression didn't change and my gaze still lingered on the lands below. The day was clear and fine and would be filled as usual with "watching over the land and it's people."

"Onyx, I'm sick of us hiding away like this! We've been at it since after creation and honestly I'm sick of it!" I snapped at him, our body flinched and I sighed heavily. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't do this. I just, want to do something with our life other than being protector of the world we helped create" I whispered running a clawed hand through my hair.

"Sister... if it means that much then I guess we could possibly go explore the world for a while, maybe try meeting some of the residents" he mused. I turned to him and grinned.

"I''d hug you if I could, you're the best" I replied as he chuckled quietly in response. Working as one, we spread our wings and took a running leap out into the open air no doubt in our minds about what would happen next.
