Kei is a cheerful,
curious, lively girl who lights up
everything around her.
She isn't outgoing by any means,
but there's just something about
her that draws people in.
She is full of smiles and
positive energy and wants
to share that with everyone.

Keikōtō
Female
Relationship with parents;;

Kei and her mother have gotten along quite well through the years. When Kei was born, Delilah always gave her as much attention as she possibly could. This is all good and well surely showing Delilah's care for her, but this means Kei has never been anything but pampered over the years. However despite her upbringing she was never selfish to. Delilah was an amazing teacher for Kei, explaining in the way with which she learned best. It was the same for Kei, who took every lesson to heart. Keikōtō was always very intrigued by Anubis. When she was little she used to pull at his feathers, so he avoided her at all costs, but eventually she realized the error of her ways and coaxed him into coming near her again. They eventually became a form of friends, and surely still are even though they haven't seen each other in a while, Anubis having watched over her from the skies since she was very young and Kei always sharing a portion of her meals with him. She is very thankful for how much care he has given her as well. She was always surprised at the variety of foods he could guzzle down. Her mother and her share many mutual beliefs and personality traits, both being sweet and clumsy, which is another reason Anubis was annoyed by her at first. He had trouble even taking care of one of them, now there was another? Kei is also extremely talkative, jabbering on to everyone, besides her father (but only because she understands him fairly well), including Anubis who can only squawk for her to stop in response. Yes, she can be fairly annoying, but like her mother she has this strong radiating aura of love about her that touches everyone. Kei owes so much to her mother and wants to be exactly like her, and also wants to make as many people as happy as she can because she loves the energy that radiates off them when they are. Delilah knows this, so it was not surprise to her when Kei went up to her and said that she wanted to follow her own path.

Sadly, her being pampered so much by her mother made Kei crave attention more than anything, which is something her father wasn't really akin to giving her. Her father often made her cry, though eventually she understood why he treated her like he did. She of course made sure to hide it from both her parents because she was upset in herself for being hurt by her father, who surely didn't mean any of it apon her. Kei still rarely cries, but when she does she gets a burst of adrenaline that pushes herself to do better and be stronger for the ones she cares about, courtesy of her father. Thinking of her father is the only thing that awakes her from her normal weak and ignorant self, which as a child was quite a harsh awakening but will likely keep her safe from whatever comes at her now that she is alone. She is expertly attuned to things that may do her harm thanks to her father (though normally that feeling isn't enough to sway her, but if it was truly awful she'd surely take note of it and leave the premises as fast as possible). She often thanks him for how much he's done for her by just sitting by him late at night when he's still up thinking and giving him a hug as a kind gesture. Whether he recognizes it as such she doesn't know, but she won't ever stop telling him how much she loves him. However, she will likely never tell him about what he did to her because he will likely be saddened by causing her pain, even if it made her a stronger person. The one difference between Kei and her mother is that Kei knows to be silent when speech won't help the situation. Though her father's nature can be a bit hard on her, she understands who he is and loves him for it. They don't talk much, but for every frown Hitori aims at Kei she gives him her warmest, most sincere smile in return. She knows her loves her with all his heart and that's all she truly needs from him. She will never smile and love with the exact same conviction that she does towards her Father. Because of him, she has learned to live in the moment.

Story;;
Since she was born, Kei had been living in a clearing. Though it seemed average and meaningless to her, she was told once, and only once, that it was a place of remembrance for her father. She wouldn't dare take that away from him, so she doesn't mind the place she was born, though she would've wished there had been more people to communicate with. However, it did give her the honour of really knowing her parents, thankfully realizing she loved all they were with all of her heart. She indeed plans to come back to see her parents again, and to maybe have her own child their even to honour her father and what he suffered; what he was able to overcome and raise a child but what he would never forget. She had a fairly simple life, taught by her mother to be who she is now through words and by her father with actions, and she hopes above anything that they are proud of her. Her mother tried to give her as much social interaction she could and Kei enjoyed every minute of it. She was always the type to take care of people, even preforming "exams" on her mother. Eventually came that she wanted to pursue her own destiny, not because of disrespect to where or how she was raised, but because she had the overwhelming urge to help as many people as she could, a task she couldn't think to complete staying in one place. So she left. She was almost going to leave in the middle of the night for fear of what her father would say, but she eventually worked up the courage, got permission, said goodbye, and left. She plans to one day settle down when she is comfortable for what mark she has left on the world, though when that will be she doesn't know. For now, she will carry on with all the strength and dedication her parents ever had.

Relationships;;YerxKei's first journey took her to the tribe of Raxurins on a group of deciduous forest-islands. She had heard of the tribe from a doctor on the mainland who had run across one of the tribesmen on the beach. The poor viscet had a spear stuck in his side, probably a gift from a rival tribe of the most recent skirmish. The doctor in question was untrained and didn't know how to properly clean such a wound, so Kei did it for him manually. She also decided she would personally bring him back as well, both because she wanted to see if the tribe needed any more help and because the rest of the villagers seemed really quite wary of him. They urged her not to, but Kei insisted and took him on a boat to the island, still unconscious. Once she got there, she left him on the boat and set off into the jungle where she was ambushed by a group of tribesmen. Whether they were the viscet in the boat's peers or not, it didn't seem to Kei like they were going to be asking questions. Luckily, their spears were intercepted by a seemingly high-executive viscet of the tribe. He quickly ordered the others to carry their wounded member back (Kei realized then they were indeed who she was looking for) and introduced himself as Yerx, explaining that he would bring her to the tribe's village safely so she could explain herself. He seemed extraordinarily kind-mannered and well-spoken especially compared to his brethren, but there was something mysteriously vicious about him that very few could likely pick up on. This, instead of scaring her, made Kei very intrigued about him. However, if she had learned anything from her father, it was to be wary, so she decided to not question him about it. She explained to the chief how the wounded viscet had come across and what she was doing there, noting that Yerx was the one asking the questions and assumed he was the tribe's spokesman, later confirmed by him. She was very impressed by how well-versed he was and had a billion questions in her own mind, but he didn't seem comfortable in having her stay any longer than he could make it. She was asked to leave the tent after all the questions had been answered and wait. After waiting for maybe 10 minutes, Yerx emerged with a small trinket box, telling her it was a gift from the tribe for her help. He also told her that tribesmen can change their minds quickly and she may not be so lucky as to have him intervene the next time. However, he promised to accompany her back to her boat so she would be a bit safer. On the way, she got a few of her questions answered, but not enough. She didn't particularly want to be attacked again however, so she left with the haste Yerx wanted her to, though she didn't want to. After returning to the mainland she was met a group of grateful villagers that wished her to be safe. After thanked them all politely for their worry and bid them farewell she set off once again on her walkabout. Then, she remembered the box Yerx had given her. She pulled it carefully out of her bag to inspect it. It was a beautifully carved and smoothed wooden box with an engraving of what seemed to be a basalisk. Careful inspection showed her that the box was not made from the trees located on the island. They had likely stolen or bartered for it from someone else. Interested on its contents, she opened the lid. Inside was a small golden dangle earring with a small blue jay feather at its end. Knowing the traditions of good faith in tribes, she thought for certain it was made by Raxurin hands. It was very beautiful, adorned with small, gentle colored gems like blue diamond and topaz. Kei smiled warmly at her gift, donned it on her right ear, and set off once again, vowing that she would return one day to learn more about peculiar Yerx and his peculiar tribe, even if it killed her.
She just couldn't help being curious.
RajahDuring the more early days of her journey, Kei found her way to a very plant-oriented town to learn up on herbal medicines. That was where she me Rajah, a young male viscet studying for his botany degree. He had decided to come up to the quaint town during his off times to further advance his studies. Rajah took a notice to Kei instantly, seeing as most find her quite beautiful and charming, and for the next few days he tried his hardest to hit it off with her. He quickly found, however, that though she was quite charmed when he taught her of different herbal medicines and their uses, she paid no notice to his advances and spoke to him only in her usual kind and cheery banter. Eventually she parted ways with him, seeming to have never caught on at all. He was just another person she met on the road to her which left him annoyed for several months but eventually moved on. Their relationship was more of a girlfriend or nothing deal to him. Little did he know she had stolen a few Echinacea stems from his bag for her own uses.
Maybe he meant just a bit more to her after all.
LumieraBy the time Kei met Lumiera, her name had begun to be carried around in whispers from village to village as the wandering doctor with seemingly no goal but to bring health, both physical and mental, to the towns she visited. Still, it was an utter shock to her when a messenger who said he came from a village near castle LaCendre delivered a letter to her asking her to heal their son from an ailment. The castle's doctor was bedridden as well, having left to help some sick in the village and had contracted a disease. Kei checked the man out at the village before making haste to the castle and determined that he would be fine. However, the son was very sick and needed at least three days of her treatment, though not constantly. After doing all she could for that day, she turned around to see a fairly young girl looking on in sadness and worry, trying her hardest not to tear up. She was wearing a very royal-looking dress, poofy and dark and adorned with cornflower roses, and a wreath of bluebells on her head. Though Kei had thought princesses were meant to wear their crowns always in the day and especially in company, Kei was sure this was her. She seemed to be about sixteen, five years younger than Kei in that case. She seemed to Kei to be pure and pacifistic, but she seemed also to be childish and mentally weak. Kei thought for sure that being royalty probably was very hard on a personality such as hers. Kei been told by the girl's parents to ignore her if she was seen, but Kei couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor dear worrying for her brother. Kei spent some time just comforting the girl gently before she was able to join in conversation. She was eventually able to introduce herself as Lumiera, and she helped guide Kei through the castle to where she'd be staying for the nights. Kei didn't really want to just leave the girl, so they took turns sharing stories of their lives till late at night and continued in the morning. Kei found soon that it was mostly her telling stories to the younger viscet. Lumiera was incredibly enthralled with them and seemingly never stopped asking questions. Kei realized then that the reason she was giving this girl so much attention was because she reminded her of herself a bit. They were plenty different, sure, but they both had that certain spark that made them interesting and likable viscets. Lumiera was especially enthralled in Kei's pelt, pondering often what it reminded her of. Kei was confused about this, but took it as a complement and was quite pleased, seeing as nobody had ever complement her pelt before. Her personality and being (as well as her form, of course) were what people normally noticed and were interested by, which Kei is quite happy for, but she was glad that someone had complemented the specific aspect of her that her mother had passed down to her. Immediately after being pleased for that reason, however, she remembered how much both her parents had given her and how much she missed them and broke down, much to Lumiera's dismay. She recovered quickly, knowing that she has certainly done good in her parent's eyes, and was more invigorated than ever with her healing. She couldn't have done everything so well without the boy's help though, and he was quite strong. He recovered rapidly within the three days she stayed there, and Kei determined that he would recover just fine without her assistance. After relaying this to Lumiera's parents, she was intercepted by Lumiera on the way to her room to gather her stuff. Lumiera, pouty, asked why she didn't lie to her parents to stay a bit longer. Kei told her that it wasn't right to help a patient that doesn't need help, in fact it could make it worse, and that a castle in not the place she's meant to be. Lumiera, still upset but understanding, shoved a small purple pouch into Kei's hands and ran off. Kei placed it gently in her bag, going with the theme of opening her gifts after leaving the someone who gave it to her. She gathered her stuff, went down to the main hall where Lumiera gave her a proper, tear streamed, heartfelt goodbye. Kei promised to write her when she could and tell her new stories of her journeys. After many very long minutes, they finally parted ways and Kei ran quickly into the forest, eager to see what Lumiera had given her as a parting gift. However, a note hung from the outside of the bag which Kei assumed she should read first. The first section read simply,
"I finally realized what your pelt reminds me of!" Intrigued, Kei opened the bag carefully, and out came a small keyring with a lava lamp attached to it. She raised an eyebrow, unsure now of whether Lumiera was complementing her. Then she read the second line of the note, slowly reaching her paw to hook it onto her shoulderbag while reading.
"For good luck"
"To Kei, who lights up everyone she touches with her florescent charm and gentleness. May your path always be as bright as yourself."
Kei's first journal entry;;
I left for my journey just a day ago. It was a surprisingly cool summer's day. My mother sent me off with teary proudness, my father with worry. Each had a good reason for their feelings which I will always know but never tell. Both, however, wished me safety and luck for the future in their own way. I highly doubt I will forget that day, but I write this nonetheless. Today, the wind is gentle and the sky is clear. It's a perfect day for a walk.
