what scared/surprised them; so dez goes out for early halloween shopping with a few friends and they accidentally leave him in the costume aisle of the store alone, completely unnoticed. his friends forget that dez has a way of believing any myths he reads about, and school has just recently made him read greek mythology. medusa especially scares him. moreover, he just happens wander obliviously right up nose-to-nose to the medusa costume at the end of the aisle. for some reason, dez really did believe he was frozen because he had looked at the snake's fake glittering eyes and thought that he'd be turned to stone, so he froze. of course, he wasn't really frozen, but dez was sure he was done for.
what calmed them down; well, his friends eventually found him in the costume aisle and were able to get him out of his frozen state. it was a good laugh and it's used as an ice-breaker for conversations now―much to dez's mortification

what scared/surprised them; Rocky was walking out in the dark, his friends had ditched him to go get ice cream, not even asking him if he wanted to come. So he was lost out in the forest, he was scared to death, the leafs were falling off trees, animals crawling around. He jumped at the slightest of sounds. He continued to pad forward, forward, forward. He thought he was never going to get out. He felt as if the vines on the ground were wrapping around his paws and tail. He jumped and moved hesitantly. It was just a bug. He still freaked out because well, it was a bug, and he was terrified of bugs. Then he saw two.. red.. blazing lights. His eyes widened, and his fur stuck up. Then a loud HONK scared Rocky out of his pelt. He burst into tears. His friends were there. 3 of them, 2 laughing, and one feeling horrible for him. She went over and comforted him.

what calmed them down; Well, turns out his friends had brought him ice cream, and a smoothie. They apologized to him for what they did, they just thought it would've been funny. After they finished ice cream, they all went home and watched a nice movie.

what scared/surprised them; A little black cat walking past her. She's HIGHLY superstitious- especially during the halloween/fall seasons. She's already afraid of cats due to an incident as a young child but tape on the stereotype that black cats equal bad luck and she's ascending into the void and "nope-ing" on outta there.
what calmed them down; Hiding under her covers when she pets home. She like...blesses her room, makes charms, has a salt line and garlic at the window, etc. all around her room and bed to "keep away" any supernatural danger and the likes. She full on believes that she is safe in her room....as well as she has a tiny belief that they'll go away for they can't see her. 'They' being anything harmful or something. She's hella paranoid.
