About Them:
"Honestly? You're at this again?" Tanzy's ears flicked back with mild agitation as he gazed at the sandy-furred kalon before him, his own orange and blue pelt ruffled slightly. The other male, however, gazed at him with mildly unveiled perplexity.
"I'm...afraid I don't follow."
"That's the fourth kit you've scared off this week. Can't you be a little, y'know...less intense?" Cassie was always like this. Always a little too realistic, a little too blunt with anyone he spoke to. Not many kalons liked him much for it--well, no one did, really, and that was why he wasn't exactly..friends with many. Not many girls really poked around as a result, of course.
Cass was just...soul-searching, in every meaning of the word. Too curious, perhaps too serious, and too intimidating in the way he acted and looked at others. As cute as his appearance was, as soon as he opened his mouth - well, his eyes - others backed away in an instant.
"So, what was the mistake this time?" Tanzy pinned back an ear, daring to cast his friend - 'friend', more like guy he had to babysit - a glance. Cass, of course, seemed confused, sitting and wrapping his fluffy black and tan tail around his paws.
"The kit asked me about fairytales, and whether they were real." He paused, cocking his head slightly. "I simply said that although they were not, she was uneducated about the true stories. I began to tell her the original tales, instead of those terrible renditions in childrens' books, but..."
"But what?" Dare I ask? Tanzy thought, somewhat of a deadpan in his voice. He already had a feeling about what happened, of course, so what was the use in asking, anyway? "You know what? Nevermind. Just tell me which story you decided to tell her first." Cassie's ears perked as though surprised with the interest, and, with an oddly chipper expression, he responded--and the answer made Tanzy groan, hanging his head in exasperation. Cut off toes? Really?

"Cinderella."
