Her Shop wrote:Felicity's floral shop, better known as "Petite Petals," is a small store dedicated to the selling of floral arrangements. All the flowers that she gets for her creations are locally grown in her parent's farm. The fake flowers that she gets for some of her false flower arrangements are purchased from other katkins who are skilled in making them.
Her shop is a small, modest two story building; it consists of 3 different rooms total. The first floor has two rooms, which consists of the selling floor and a smaller room dedicated to the making of her arrangements. The second floor only consists of one room, which is an additional selling floor as the room below isn't big enough to sufficiently showcase her art.Floor 1 wrote:Selling floor
A small room that has many different shelves and pots hanging on the walls. Sphere shaped floral foam that have complex patterns woven from flowers in them hang low from the ceiling. There are large, wooden shelves standing tall in the middle of the room as well. Each and every nook and cranny is decorated with floral items; arrangements of all different shapes, sizes, and colors illuminate the bland white walls that makes up the room.
In the very back of the white room sits a greenish blue colored desk which is attached to the wall and the ground below it. Sitting on top of it are many papers, books, binders, and pens, as well as a nice, old fashion styled cash register that was once owned and used by her parents. The papers that litter her desk are recently paid orders waiting to be finished; the books that are neatly stacked in the back of her cashier area are filled with examples of her work; the binders that lean against the white wall are filled with forms of completed orders; the black and blue pens are covered with floral tape, topped with a cute faux flower at the very end, and they sit carefully placed in a pink coffee mug.
Back room
An even smaller room that holds glass cases, sinks, cabinets, drawers, and wooden working tables.
The glass cases act like fridges; Felicity keeps multiples of her flowers inside these cases. Sometimes completed works will be stored inside a specific case before they're picked up by their customer.
Metal sinks cooled down by the low temperature of the room are fairly deep, and are able to fit large buckets filled to the brim of water and uncut flowers. This is where she soaks her floral foam before they are used in an arrangement; she carefully places the block of foam into a bucket filled with water, letting it sit for five or more minutes to ensure that there are no air bubbles.
The cabinets that cover the walls are filled with floral tools, mainly buckets, baskets, vases, floral food, and different shapes of floral foam. They are within easy reach for Felicity, but she still carries around a stool to make sure she doesn't accidentally hurt herself when trying to reach them.
The drawers in this room carry more floral tools for the katkin to work with. Floral knives, scissors, wire snips, tape, thorn strippers, pins, and more find themselves being stored away. Ribbon, floral wire, paper, plastic wrapping, and pencils can also be found if you are able to look in the correct drawer. Felicity has everything necessary to create a lovely arrangement, whether it's a simple basket full of flowers, a corsage, or even a flower crown.
The wooden working tables always has something on top of it at all times. Whether it's binders from the cashier section of the other room, cut flowers and foliage, or tools, something is bound to be found on it.Floor 2 wrote:Selling floor #2
This floor is nearly identical to the first floor, except for the fact that it's much larger in size. Different styles of floral arrangements can be found on shelves in this room. Customers can look outside the large, vine-covered windows to see the street in front of the building as well as the rest of the village. Scented floral arrangements can also be found in the very back of the room as they give off a strong, sweet scent that might not always appease a customer.
This room is brightly lit, just like the rest of the building. The sun usually shines through the large windows as well, giving the shop's interior a soft look. The brightness often helps customers have their gaze attracted to the even brighter colors of the flowers and foliage. The blandness and simpleness of the room helps put more emphasis on the arrangements as well.
