#0323 Copper Bay Pangaré Brindle

Postby tynahi » Sun Jul 31, 2016 1:30 pm

A stallion paws at the ground before starting to pace boredly. He has a stunning coat! Copper Bay Pangaré with Tiger like Brindling. His jade eyes give off a piercing look as he looks for someone to consider an equal.

Name: Pride of Kings // King
Gender: Stallion
Eye Color: Jade Green
Coat Color: Copper Bay Pangaré Brindle

Character Development:
King is a very commanding, regal stallion. He often seems proud, and anyone who thinks so would be right. He has a great deal of pride. He won't even talk to horses that he deems beneath him. He doesn't do this to be snooty, but he truly believe that all horses have their place in the 'chain' and some are simply higher up than others, he being one of them. King only cares what a few horses think about him, and it is those horses that he tries to earn respect from. While he does believe some horses are naturally born to greatness, he also believes that respect is something to be earned, not something that you demand from others because of your greater size or strength. King also has a deep sense of honor, an almost chivalrous spirit. Sometimes his pride can cause him to be misguided, but he tries to do what he thinks is best.
Around other horses King tends to be the boss. He isn't necessarily bossy but he is a natural leader and other horses tend to gravitate toward his ability to lead in times of panic.
He doesn't necessarily believe in love. He believes two horses can be 'affectionate' or "fond of each other", but he thinks love is just a figment of the imagination, created by horses with big dreams.
He seems to have a similar opinion about several things actually. Dreaming, in his opinion, is useless because a dreams just float about in the head and are never acted upon. He thinks being realistic is the best way to get through ones troubles and figure out problems, he believes unrealistic hopes and dreams simply hinder ones ability to accept the truth.
Sometimes being level headed and realistic is helpful to him, but other times it can make him a bit too cynical and pessimistic. But, his cynical nature can be overcome by his loyalty to those he truly likes. He is willing to help his friends through the hardest of times, no matter how silly or foolish he may find their dreams or expectations.

King is a bit of a flirt with mares sometimes. He can be charming when he chooses to be. Most mares find him attractive, and he knows it. It tends to feed his pride and, his supposedly non-existent vanity. He actually finds it annoying when mares don't pay him the attention they usually do. Once such case is Zephyra. While one might think that this mare's similar beliefs would make them get along, she is realistic and not romantic in the least. She never responds when King tries to flirt with her and never gives him a second glance (if he is even lucky enough to get a first). This makes him angry and sometimes the two get into arguments. Many horses say this means they like each other, but both of them will deny this thoroughly to anyone who says so to their faces.
Zephyra's best friend, Megara, on the other hand, is almost as flirty as he is and flirts with him if he flirts with her, sometimes she even flirts with him even if he doesn't flirt with her. This seems to irritate Zephyra, who says her friend could show more decorum. Oddly enough, King finds that he enjoys arguing with Zephyra even more than flirting with Megara, though she generally offends him in some way. For instance, one day he sauntered up to her and asked why she never paid attention to the handsome stallions that tried to get her attention. She replied that when a truly handsome stallion did try to get her attention she might pay attention.

King's closest friend is probably Calisto. This stallion's laid back personality makes him a good listener when King needs to talk things out. Occasionally they will even rant to each other, then joke about being like old mares. Calisto tends to balance his friends sometimes irritable temperament.
King and Calisto often explore together. But, while Calisto prefers wide open spaces and flower fields, King likes remote, wooded places that are almost like a jungle!
One day they made a deal, each would get to pick one location to explore and the other would have to go with them. Calisto went first. He chose a meadow in the hills. It was covered in flowers and all matter of plants. Al was well, until King, not used to the tall grass and forgetting Calisto's warning, nearly stepped on a snake and got bit.
After that they moved on to King's spot.
King took Calisto to a deep part of the woods higher up in the mountains than Calisto generally liked to travel. Calisto had almost begun to enjoy the pine trees, ferns, and waterfalls, when he tripped over the rocky ground and scraped his foreleg.
By the time they got back to the herd King and Calisto both had a story to tell of the misfortunes that had befallen them in the locations chosen by their friend.
This is an example of the difference in tastes between these two stallions regarding locations:
King likes! ........... Calisto likes!

King likes this spot! ........ Calisto prefers this spot.

      Name: Benji
      Gender: Stallion
      Eye Color: Jade Green
Coat Color: Copper Bay Pangaré Brindle
      Character Development:
As a foal Benji always was the right hand in command. He showed power and respect to his elders and the younger foals in the herd he once ran with. People would have him leading the herd from time to time when he was only just becoming a young stud. They trusted him and hoped that one day he would protect them throughout thick and thin. As he grew older he was finally the leader, he was a bit cocky about it at first, always rubbing it in stallions faces and attempting to get at mares who fawned over him daily.
One day as he was leading his herd among a vast valley, a loud roaring sound echoed through the sky above them. A strange object zoomed past them but then circled back around. The herd was frightened, and in an attempt to escape most mares and foals ran for the hills; The stallions staid back to try to scare off the strange object above them. As the whinnied and stomped their hooves in the ground, a bunch of people started to surround them.
Two stallions were captured, the others ran after the mares to protect them and the foals so they could continue on with traveling. Benji and his childhood friend were loaded into a trailer and taken to an auction house not too far from the valley. Benji was separated from his friends and put into a smaller pen with stranger horses who seemed to not mind his presence. Days passed and Benji was never given food, he only received little water that would keep him barely hydrated. From what he had learned from the other horses, he was at a place where nothing good happens. He was scared and wanted to return to his family but there was no way out of the hell he was about to endure.
One afternoon Benji and a few others were forced out of the pen and into a smaller ring where men stood on the inside, they had long stick like objects in their hands. Every time a mustang got near the corners the stick like objects would make a loud 'CRACK' sound in the air.
What Benji didn't know is that he was at an auction, he was about to be sold to a slaughter house but a young women out bid him. Benji was taken back into a different pen where he awaited to be moved again, but this time he wasn't going back to his herd, he was going to a place by the name of Woodstock Stables. The journey was long but thankfully the trailer held some type of dried grass that he was allowed to munch on while he stood in the back of the trailer.
Once Benji arrived at Woodstock Stables, he was frightened and aggressive towards most men that came around him. He didn't like it when they moved too fast around him and he had personal space problems. If someone got too close to him he would back up or even kick out to get the person to move.
A girl named Parker started to work with him every day or so. After four months of work Benji began trusting Parker, which was major progress. He finally settled in with a small herd of horses who accepted him as a leader and once again he was living the life he once lived before.

Show Name: SAWM Coldblood Killer
Barn Name: "Vepkhi"; Old Georgian male name meaning "tiger".
Gender: Stallion
Eye Color: Jade Green
Coat Color: Copper Bay Pangaré Brindle

Character Development:
Vepkhi wasn't given his show name by chance; he earned it.

A competing machine, Vepkhi is nothing short of dangerous when he's put on the field. Piercing green eyes shine with intelligence as they take in everything around him: intimidating the other competitors, making the other riders uneasy, and solving the course and it's mysteries. When he looks at you, you can almost feel him working out the world around him. Extremely competitive, Vepkhi hates to lose; he'll turn anything into a competition, and loves to show up the other competitors. He's easily frustrated by a loss, and that frustration can quickly turn into anger if it's not dealt with properly. That is where others lose their nerve with the massive, muscular stallion. Most people are still unsure as to whether he's actually a horse or not; those strange, vibrant eyes are "too predatory" many a person has said. They don't know how anyone could feel safe astride this monster of a stallion. Well, while his rider Nageh never feels completely safe, he knows there's a strong sense of trust and an uncanny ability to work as partners, a right that was hard-won by the man.

Vepkhi was an antisocial, ill-tempered, highly aggressive fighter when he first came to Amethyst Ridge; he wanted nothing to do with people, stalls, tack, fences, other horses, anything that held any sense of humanity or being tamed. For the first three years, he was the epitomy of "you can take the horse out of the wild, but not the wild out of the horse". Nageh put so much work into this stallion; consider this: Vepkhi was taken from the wild at two years of age. It took three years just for Nageh to be able to handle him, then another year just to get a saddle on him and start training him at six years of age. But it was well worth it; only a month into competition training, Nageh entered him into a local show jumping competition; mistakenly, it was Advanced Jumping, but Nageh decided it was worth the risk, just to see how Vepkhi would do. Even Amethyst figured Vepkhi wouldn't do well because of his lack of training. But, the tiger-marked stallion proved them wrong; he went toe-to-toe with the other competitors without flinching, and then took the blue ribbon on the fastest clean round of the competition. And with a huge smile, Nageh announced Vepkhi was "well worth the wait".

Now at seven years of age, Vepkhi is an amazing competitor and fast on his way to becoming a circuit champion. He's still just as antisocial as that first day, standing alone in the paddock and ignoring anyone that tries to bother him. And should anyone get too close, a warning kick or a mock charge typically takes care of the disturbance quite quickly. He's normally quite calm and collected, though, but he's definitely not beyond fighting. Godspeed if you're the one he's targeting. The only people able to handle him are Nageh and Isla, Nageh's daughter. The stallion admittedly has a soft spot for the 14 year old girl, and when no one's looking, allows her to climb up onto his back and lay across it while he grazes. Nageh doesn't let her ride him in competition due to his high aggression, but maybe one day she'll get the chance. One of Vepkhi's major vices, though, is water; he is definitely a typical tiger. If there's water nearby, he's going in it. He doesn't care if he's groomed for competition, or if he has a rider, or if it's below zero freezing. He's going in.
