On the ride home....
-hears truck tires coming up the long rocky drive way to the barn-
After my mom an dad finally arrived with the trailer it was time to load up. An the troubles begin...
I wasn't quiet sure how I wanted to go about loading her on the trailer. Let alone catching her. But her being in a stall definitely assisted with that. Before we attempted this I wanted her to feel somewhat comfortable with me, and my parents hoping it will make it smoother for us all. So I ran an grabbed my moms arm an dragged her to the stall where my baby girl was held. We heard a loud high pitched whinny coming from the barn an I knew it was her! Makes me feel like she already loves me when she greets me. My mom, "Mrs. Angie" took one look at her an couldn't stop smiling an telling me how beautiful she was. Few moments later my dad walks over an lets of a little smirk, and says "so this is the little gremlin were taking home huh?" I know he's just cracking jokes. He's one of those dads.
After admiring her beauty, I told them one at a time to go into her stall an let her sniff them, an me. She was a little shy of my mom, but eventually she was okay with her scratching her little booty(What horse doesn't like that?!). My baby girl let me pet her all over since I wouldn't leave her alone for the few hours waiting for the trailer (: She wasn't very fond of my father though when he would walk up to the stall door she would hurry to the back wall pinning her tail between her legs. I suppose she highly dislikes Men. So we figured it would be fine if he just sat in the truck an waited since he couldn't be of any help. So after talking to her an petting her more she was fine with my mom. So we decided its probably good to try an load her especially since its starting to get late.
We have a small 2 horse stock trailer. Which is usually the easiest type of trailer to use due to the fact that its more open and less "scary" things in there. My dad told me they bought a few things that might help. They got two types of treats; Apple Treats, an some weird little peppermint horse patties an of course a few flakes of amazing fresh cut hay! We put fresh soft bedding for her fragile little/big hoofs. I think we have it all set up an nice for her, phew. My mom even grabbed a cute tiny little halter from Tractor Supply! Its so cute I can't bare it. If she even lets me put it on her, pfft. We get my dad to back up the as close as he can to the barn door. There are many people waiting to get there foals, and to help whoever needs it, which is amazing. As my mom signals my dad while backing up, I stand back by the stall an watch/ comfort my baby girl. She keeps hearing the sounds of the brakes, the metal doors crashing an shaking. She gets nervous an walks in circles around her stall. After all the noises have stopped we let her chill out for a few minutes. I attempt to put the halter on her but she just keeps shaking her head an all kind of crazy stuff. So one of the people around told me to just push her butt while others stand side by side of her toward the step into the trailer. That worked but once we got to the step she froze an refused. SO as crazy as he is my big strong dad gets out an just swoops her up an leaps into the trailer while me an my mom hurry to close the trailer door. An I go in an feed her 2 or so treats (: AAAHHHH FINALLY. -Everyone cheers- The ride home was pretty quiet after she was in the trailer for about 20 minutes. I guess driving was relaxing, kinda like a baby on a car ride. We made about 3 stops on the way just to check on her an every time she was either looking out the window or snacking on some hay. Every time we opened the door she would just stare at me an do a little huff -hehe-.
