What makes this place unique?: gordes is probably the coolest town you'll ever see. Gordes was made in ancient times as an oppidum , but was left abandoned until World War Two. In World War Two, Gordes served as a hide-out for resistance, until it was bombed as revenge for the resistance killing a German soldier. A dozen houses were destroyed. Gordes was used as a refuge as many wars took place. During the insecurity, people would hide out in the hights of this hilltop village. That's where Gordes, the hilltop village, took origin. Because of its strategic building, Gordes served a main part in the Renaissance and especially notably in the war of religion.
How has growing up here affected them?: Gordes may be beautiful, but it's also very remote. It's hard to grow up in a town usually just filled with tourists. Gordes is nothing like a big city, it's a small village deep in France, which means there isn't very much modernization. Ali loves it, but wishes she could go somewhere bigger.

Shivers spread through the deadened city, few spoke, few moved. Everything was still. Hiding in houses made of stone, families and members of the resistance huddled together. soldiers whispered in one room, talking battle strategies alike. a family was sobbing uncontrollably as a girl had managed to slip out and was missing. They believed their daughter dead, though she was only curious. she opened the wooden door and walked down the abandoned stone streets. Moss covered aging buildings surrounded her, covering her with cool shade. The only sound was of her footsteps. She gently touched the walls, examining the handy work. She gazed at the large overgrown bushes and trees scattered across the street. She found a rather interesting building and slipped inside. It smelled of mildew and dust. She went to the back wall and looked through a window streaming light. A large noise sounded, a fiery explosion of light and sound flooded her, she was knocked back and everything went black.
