    Best Friend & Why:

    Peregrine Falcon

A small, feathered creature fell from one of the Live Oaks in the main field, spooking the herd that had been resting under the shade provided there. The sudden unexpected interruption was a grand scare among the horses, for all except one; Steve. Being the fearless, if not brave, lead stallion of the herd, he eagerly went to investigate what had spooked the others. Meanwhile, a few of the stable hands paused to view the spectacle, as it was an uncommon occurrence for the herd to collectively spook.
As Steve drew closer to the base of the tree, quiet, desperate calls emanated from the center of a pile of leaves. With his ears perked forward, the spotted stallion cautiously lowered his nose, sending out small puffs of air to scatter the leaves. And within no time at all, a young Peregrine Falcon was uncovered. He was small, and looked to have tried to leave the nest a bit before his time. Fortunately, he did not look injured. In fact, upon being discovered by the rather large mammal, he began to beat his wings as he tried to steady himself on his unpracticed legs. The small falcon stumbled around a bit, and Steve's nose followed. Eventually, the little bird managed to somewhat stand on unsteady legs...before beginning to tip forward again. Before the baby falcon could fall back to the leaves yet again, Steve caught the little bird with his nose, allowing the small creature to lean against him as he continued to chirp and call out. A rustle to the stallion's left caused his attention to shift, but never did he move his nose. Approaching were two of the stable hands, who were concerned with the herd and Steve's odd behavior. However, it all made sense when they spotted the little falcon leaning against the appaloosa, his little wings spread out, covering the sides of Steve's nose, chirping up a storm.
Thinking on their feet, one of the stable hands removed their sweatshirt, and carefully approached Steve and the baby falcon. They knelt down, and gently scooped up the little bird into the soft material, before standing back up slowly as they made sure they securely had the falcon. And once the little guy was picked up, Steve's head lifted before he decided to follow the two humans. He walked along the side of the one who had the bird in their care, his eyes never seeming to leave the little fellow. The falcon was an odd little thing to Steve, and he was incredibly interested. But alas, once the group reached the gate, Steve was unable to follow the pair any further, and was reduced to pacing along the fence line. He did this for awhile, before deciding it would do no good, for the little bird was in the hands of the humans now. That was when he went and re-joined his awaiting herd, and they continued on with their normal business as usual for the next few weeks. But, after a few weeks, it was then that a familiar face had returned...
It was early in the morning, the horses had been turned out after eating their breakfast, and were now allowed to graze until they'd be needed again. Through the weeks, Steve's mind drifted back to the bird, where he was now, how he was doing, or if he had even survived. Giving a soft snort, the appaloosa's thoughts shifted back to something important; eating. Until, that is, a screech from above caught his attention. Circling above him, was a broad-winged, multi-colored feathered bird that was slowly spiraling towards the earth. It didn't seem to catch any of the other horses' attention, save Steve's. Quietly, he stood, flicking his tail across his hind legs as he waited patiently to see what this bird happened to be doing.
Soon enough, the rather large feathered creature did land in a patch of grass not far from the stallion. And, giving in to his curiosity, Steve decided to approach. It was when the bird folded his wings against his sides, tilted his head, and gave a soft call, did Steve's ear perk up in realization. This bird was a falcon. Could this be the little fellow that had fallen out of the tree some weeks ago? The appaloosa gave a soft knicker as he came to a stand-still. And quite amazingly, the falcon untucked his wings just a bit as he hopped through the grass and over to the stallion, wings slightly hold out to his sides. The winged fowl didn't stop in front of Steve, no, instead he began to hop around the equine, even under him, as he gave more falcon-like screeches. All the while, Steve watched calmly as the bird excitedly bounced around the grass. Eventually, the feathered creature made his way back to the head of the stallion, wings still held out as he looked up at Steve with bright yellow eyes. That's when the stud lowered his head and gently stuck his nose out in the direction of the falcon. Much to his surprise, the bird hopped forward and nudged the stallion's nose kindly. The obvious remembrance caused Steve to give a soft knicker, before he lowered his head to the ground and began to pull up at the grass, uprooting it in the hopes a stray worm or edible insect for his newest friend would be revealed. And, eventually, small insects and worms began to appear, much to the delight of the duo.
For the rest of the day, the two stood closely as Steve uprooted grass to find food for his friend, as he ate the grass himself. This continued on for many days, and to the surprise of the stable hands, a crude nest began to be built in the corner rafter of Steve's stall as the days progressed. Not long after, Steve and his falcon friend became the barn's mascots, and were almost completely inseparable, as they went everywhere together.

    Best Friend & Why:
James is an scrappy and attractive stallion, meaning he gets the attention he definitely deserves, but he needs someone to keep himself on track and out of making emotional decisions to keep himself a live adventuring the unknown. Although his friend is still equine, their customs and personalities are not able to be compared, but he has the biggest impact on Jim and Jim has the biggest impact on him. Thinking technical all day, this friend doesnt rest for emotion but lives full of innocence and mystery. Their relationship sparks all due to their different personalities and choices on a daily basis. Keeping each other from losing their minds, they balance each other out like no other could. Having issues that are soon resolved like most best friends, it teaches them more and more about how important their friendship is to each other and should continue on their life odyssey.

Dropping out. I lost my connection with this handsome boy. If the owner is up for it, I'd love to do a breeding swap with this handsome boy and my mare Lule.

Story:
I knew that when I brought Monday home to the Ocean View Stables that he would make a friend, however who he choose surprised me the most. There are many spices here at the barn, however Monday was my first Westrossa Mustang. Not to sure where to put him I placed him first with my tolters, but the leader of the heard, Roman, gave him one look and shunned him. The rest of the herd followed him. “He is a bit of a brat don’t mind him.” I said to Monday gently and stroked his muzzle. I lead him away to the biggest herd I had, Wild Epona Meadow horses. I placed him in the coral and the heard of horses headed over to inspect him. Monday who was rather shy just stood still and twitched his tail. Kalypso nudged him and wanted to play but Monday glared at her. She trotted away solemnly with Ladywood and Moran on her heels. “If you want to make friends your going to have to be friendly too.” I told Monday. Taffy, Grape, Storm, Trigger and Colonel all surrounded Monday trying to get him to play or come graze. I was pleased with how accepting the herd was except I noticed one horse was missing, Danny. Danny liked to think he was in charge of the herd; there wasn’t exactly a herd leader they all got along nicely. However Danny wanted to be in charge, he tried to boss the others around but it never worked. He was disgusted by Monday at stood on the top of the hill staring at him. Monday saw him and trotted up to him. Danny didn’t give him the time of day but Monday wouldn’t give up. After about a week of trying to get rid of him Danny gave up and I was surprised to see them one day chasing each other. Back and forth they would go all day, Danny was so distracted he stopped trying to play leader. It came to a point when Danny and Monday were inseparable. I had to start exercising them together or they wouldn’t budge. I was glad Monday found a friend and I cant wait to add more to the herd.
