We found this guy on the side of the road, and he looked... a little less than fine. We picked him up and now he's at the shelter and has been recovering well. He was a bit shy and shaky at first with us, but after he realized that nobody was there to hurt him ? He opened up quickly. He did mostly fine with getting his nails trimmed, groomed... but he refused to get into a tub to take a bath. After a long while we managed to force him into the tub, but he kept trying to get out and was shaking all throughout the wash. We aren't sure if it's because he just doesn't like baths, or something happened to him in the past. We might never know. By now though, he's ready for a new home and is friendly to kids and other animals.

Why doesn't he like baths ?:

Anluan, as very young puppy, was introduced to water, and some would say to young. The breeder which owned his parents wanted the puppies ready as soon as possible. Unfortunately, this mean't that many were forced into situations they just weren't ready for. "Shallow" pools of water were used but the water only allowed the very tips of their toes to touch the bottom. In a panicked frenzy to the new sensation and harsh introduction, Anluan was very quick to fall under the water, his nose, ears and eyes coming into the contact with water and filling up. The water in his nose was the worst! A sharp pain remaining as he pushed his head above the water and coughed it up and breathed heavily for a few moments. Luckily for him, a hand reached down to pick his shivering form up and out of the water. Since then Anluan has been afraid of coming into contact with large amounts of water.

when he was a smol pup living on the streets he had a traumatic experience he saw a pond frozen over with ice it was near Christmas and their was snow everywhere he started to walk on the ice not knowing it was thin and it cracked in a frenzy he tried to run but fell luckily another dog took pity on him and helped him out.he still hates water
