RVEC #3 - Cremello Quarter Horse

Postby SydneyandStorm » Fri Jul 22, 2016 10:06 am

Last one for the day, but I'm quite fond of her c: A lot of these are throwbacks to the first RVEC horses created, so this girl is a bit of a toss back to the first Perlino ^^ Much happier with the way she turned out, though!

To win her, tell me about her half-brother and whether or not they ever met. He can be from either her mother or her father; doesn't matter to me. Ends July 23rd.

RVEC #3 - Cremello Quarter Horse; TT Drag Me Under

Half-brother: Growing up on a huge breeding farm like I did was definitely different from the way that colts and fillies are raised on small breeding operations. Almost all the colts and fillies are related. I shared a sire with 17 other foals who were the same age as I. We were turned out daily in groups of 2 or 3 dams and their foals. I remember my first day outside quite clearly. I had hardly figured out my legs yet, stumbling down the barn after my mother, squeaking every time my handler and I fell behind her even a bit. However, when we met the barn door I firmly planted my feet. The world outside of the cozy barn was bright and the light burned my eyes. It was noisy. It smelled funny. I was having none of it. That is until my dam strayed too far from me. At that point I nervously bounced out of the stable, trying to trot despite my handler's desire for me to slow down. When we were put into the paddock, there were so many new sights and sounds and smells to experience. Then there were other horses. A mare still carrying her foal was let out. I would've gone to greet her, but she looked especially unpleasant with pinned ears and a hard eye, so I decided to stick tightly to my mother's side. I didn't even notice that a pretty grey mare and her identical colt were let in until I heard the sound of hooves thrumming on the soft ground and the high pitched whinnies of a small horse. I whipped my head up, ears pricked and pranced toward the colt my ears forward, nickering. He to approached me and he bumped muzzles then both jumped back excitedly. He came forward again and nudged my side and ran off. I of course followed, bucking excitedly. And so the colt and I spent the rest of our days loping through the paddocks until weaning time came and we were both sold to different homes.

She's yours, believe! Congrats! <3 And, you know -- your little story there was absolutely phenomenal c: I love your writing and the cute little perspective this took! Absolutely wonderful!

herro der mes amis, i am believe. proud canadian, ottb loving, colt breaking, nfr dreaming. pictured on the left is my racetrack reject, landofmakebelieve, aka molly, moo, shmoo, whatever name comes to mind x] molly is a 10 year old canadian bred thoroughbred mare, and standing at about 16.2hh, we look a little wonky when we chase cans, but la dee da that's alright. molly and i tried several disciplines. i tried desperately to get her to catch on to dressage, but unfortunately, she still has the race bred mind and is all go. however, together we found a discipline which we could both enjoy; western gaming. this summer we started travelling to barrel races locally. our current record on a standard size pattern is 17.314 and we are improving with every run. and to all the low budget barrel racers out there such as myself, a word of advise; chin up darling. you may not have a million dollar mount under your butt, but you and your crossbred, rejected, hard headed, rescue baby can do it. you know why? cause those girls sitting in their custom circle y's, upon shiny, top of the line mounts are full of themselves. they think there's no way they can lose. they get cocky. stay humble, believe in yourself, in your horse, and most importantly ride your little heart out.
