Khimaira Friesians #17

Postby song&storm » Sat Jul 16, 2016 4:35 pm

What are Khimaira Friesians?
Khimaira Friesians are a "normal" friesian breed with all characteristics of a friesian and a average height from 15 to 17 hands, but even 18 hands can occur. The first born Khimaira was mistaked for a chimera horse. But a genetic test showed otherwise, there wasn't a second DNA but a complete new and unknown gen. Because this gen makes the friesian look like a chimera it was named khimaira. khimaira doesn't produce a complete new dna coat and therefor it can only lighten or darken the base coat of the horse. Till now only the paint khimaira is known that makes the khimaira coloration looks like tobiano, overo, sabino or splash. But we believe that there will be more khimaira variations out there and we still try to breed them. Appaloosas are not known till now, but we have some great friesian mixed horses with appaloosa patterns, so we are sure to deliver them to you in a short amount of time.

Gender: Mare
Age:3
Name: BreatheInRelief (gypsy)
Halter color: purple
Pearl/jewel color (halter): gold
Classic painting (and artist):Image
Klimt- Melo 1912
Explanation:The colors, how it's so chaotic but you find the picture within. Kinda reminds me of a pizzle,it's fun to look at.it grabs your attention, and makes you look deeper into it. I don't really have a good explanation,I've just always liked it. It's different from most classical, his style in it unique.

Halter color: Khaki Green
Pearl/jewel color (halter): Amber Wine
Classic painting (and artist): Tansey - Triumph over Mastery (1986)
Explanation: I love the simplicity of the painting, the use of two main colours really appeals to me. I love the clarity of the man on the ladder and then the shadow on the wall. To me, this painting has the meaning of trying to hide your feelings. It's so turbulent underneath the surface, but you put on a simple and plain cover to pretend it's not as hard as it is. I first saw a print of this in my great grandmother's housee, her reason for liking it was that it matched the rest of the room.

Classic painting (and artist): Cats as Classical Paintings (by Eldar Zakirov)
Explanation: I just adore how the artist has incorporated our beloved pets into human classical roles! I love the amount of detail the artist has put into the cats such as the fur and eyes and how releastic it actually looks! I love how it captures the true beauty and elegance of cats but showing them in a way the normal human wouldn't see, it goes to show artists can do anything they set their minds to despite how crazy their ideas might be they can go a long way. Another thing that captures my eye is the roles that the actual cats are playing, they seem to be quite important roles portraying the wisdom of the cats and how treasured they are.

Classic painting (and artist): link~ - "Horse Frightened By A Storm" by Eugene Delacroix, 1824
Explanation:
I remember seeing this painting when I was younger, and the first thing I did was giggle. I was asked why the painting made me laugh, and I smiled and said, "Horses are large, majestic creatures with so much will, personality, and power. Some are even fearless, but also so gentle. But, at just a small noise, most of them spook. It's just so funny..." [this was much before I understood the concept of them being prey animals]
I also really love watercolor paintings, as I have a fascination with them, so I really enjoyed this piece <3 (as well as the giggle-worthy expression of the horse portrayed by Delacroix.)

Owner: groenii
Show Name: Desert Pearl
Barn Name: Louise
Gender: Mare
Age: 3 years
Halter color: blue
Pearl/jewel color (halter): pink
Classic painting (and artist): Van Eyck: Giovanni Arnolfini and his Wife (1434)
Explanation: This painting is my favourite because it was painted with exceptional skill. I love the colour of the dress and the flowy details are amazing. However what I love most is that the mirror in the back actually doesn't show the room, but a different picture. It is a message within a message, which is a really awesome detail

Owner: Pastel rat
Show Name: Polished gem
Barn Name: Amethyst
Gender: Mare
Age: 4 years.
Halter color: Black
Pearl/jewel color (halter): Cyan and pink
Classic painting (and artist): Image By Cassius Marcellus Coolidge
Explanation: The painting has every little detail, it's easy to see what dog breeds they are. Definitely the early ages of anthropomorphic animals. Especially how something quite old, is something that we can compare to modern life, there was clearly the idea of anthropomorphic animals back then, and there is a ton of anthropomorphic animals in modern times.

    Congrats! I love this explanation.
Kudos also to INTERFECTOR for making me laugh and groenii for showing me one of my favorite paintings! You both win RUs, please PM me with a vcommon-common coat color (no paint/khimaira patterns however) and halter colors of your choice.
Everyone's explanations were great and I had a difficult time judging ^-^
