Dewi chose Stantler at a young age. Ever since he was little, he suffered from insomnia, making his nights long and his days even longer. But, one day, Dewi heard about the pokemon Stantler; a great deer with the power to put anyone asleep with it's magnificent antlers. He spent weeks trying to track one down, eventually managing to catch his Stantler. At first, the buck wouldn't listen to a thing Dewi would say, instead choosing to ignore his every command. Dewi didn't know what to do; he had never had a disobedient pokemon and wasn't forceful enough to win over the great Stantler. So, instead of convincing the Stantler to listen with commands and training, Dewi did what he does best- he was simply patient, giving the pokemon time to warm up to him. It took a while, but eventually the Stantler chose him as his trainer, and became the Kalon's closest friend. The two are inseparable. Though Dewi knows that Stantler will never be the strongest of pokemon, he would never replace his friend.

Dewi always wanted to be cool, suave, just like Grovyle. As a kit, the green pokemon was his absolute favorite. He loves the way a Grovyle is always calm and put-together, and yet is never caught off guard- Grovyle is both powerful and chill. One of his first pokemon for this reason was a Treecko, which was given to him by his mother in an egg. He walked endlessly around his home to hatch the egg, and was overjoyed when the tiny Treecko hatched. He was so excited to train that suave of a pokemon, a chill dude to eventually evolve into Grovyle- except, that didn't quite happen. It turned out that the Treecko that hatched from the egg was the most clumsy pokemon he could imagine. Being young, Dewi was upset at first, but that quickly ended; the Treecko turned out to be endearing, the sort of Pokemon that would always try his absolute hardest for his trainer. The two became close. Dewi couldn't have been happier when Treecko evolved. He is leaving it up to Grovyle if he wishes to evolve again, or wishes to stay in his current form.

Absol has always been something of an enigma, even to his trainer. Dewi adores the white and black Pokemon. He feels a personal connection to the great Absol, both being often misunderstood. Absol is the newest of his pokemon. Dewi had heard that an Absol would be difficult to train, but he figured he was experienced enough to deal with it. He was wrong. Absol has the quirk of always seeming to know more than his trainer. The mysterious Pokemon might choose his own moves, ignoring his trainer's commands, or wander off on his own path, leaving Dewi to catch up. And yet, Dewi knows he can trust the dark type with his life; Absol will always be there to protect him. Being more of a follower than a leader, he will follow most of what Absol guides him to do, or follow the pokemon's instincts.

Dewi is terrified of the dark. He always feels like there's something there, watching him- a ghost. One night, while Dewi was laying restlessly in bed, he could swear he felt a gaze...sitting up, he looked around the room, only to see a pair of eyes staring back at him. Terrified he grabbed the first thing he could find- a pokeball- and threw it at the ghost. Instead of scaring away the face in the night, the ghost ended up inside; a ghastly. Dewi was terrified of his Ghastly. He kept it in it's pokeball all the time, taking it out sometimes but always being too scared to spend too much time with it. Despite that, the Ghastly was patient, timid even- almost as if it was as scared of Dewi as Dewi was of it! Once Dewi realized this, he started doing his best to teach Ghastly that he could be it's friend- even getting over his own fear in the process. Over time, Ghastly evolved into Gengar. Though Gengar is still timid, he and Dewi get along perfectly.

Dewi found a Mankey chasing around an Eevee, bullying the poor pokemon. Instead of fighting off the Pokemon and saving the Eevee, he threw two Pokeballs- an clumsy act, when it reality, he was trying to grab the Pokeballs of his Stantler and Gengar. Accidentally, he caught both Pokemon- the Eevee, and the bully. At first, Dewi wasn't fond of Mankey, always regarding him as a bit of a jerk. He cared much more about his new Eevee. However, he did spend time training Mankey, hoping to train the aggression out of him as release the Pokemon. However, Mankey began to regard Dewi as his trainer, and his best friend. He loved more than anything to follow around the young Kalon, and copy everything he did! The Mankey grew on Dewi, until he realized he couldn't possible release the Pokemon. Now that Mankey is evolved into Primeape, he and Dewi are close buddies. Primeape is also close friends with the Eevee he once bullied, who is now evolved as well.

Dewi didn't intend to catch the Eevee he found being bullied by a Mankey, but an accident came to him catching both Pokemon. Eevee hated that Mankey at first, and, knowing that her trainer disliked the little jerk as well, clung to Dewi. She was always with him, right at his side, turning a haughty eye to the Mankey. She always acted like she was Dewi's little princess, perfect as could be. And often, she was- the best behaved, always winning Dewi's affection through her adorable acts. The Eevee and her trainer became close, but there was always the problem of that Mankey. That was, until one day, when that very Mankey did his very best to ask for forgiveness. Though before he was a rival for Dewi's affection, Eevee realized that she was the one who was closed to new ideas, unable to forgive. She forgave the Mankey, and they became friends. She evolved on a warm afternoon into a silky Espeon; the same day that Mankey evolved into Primeape. They get along wonderfully now, and Dewi adores them both. They make the best double-battle team.

hardly the most creative choice for a kalon based off a ferret, but cynthia doesn't mind too much. she absolutely adores her furret and has no qualms whatsoever on using it regularly. she knows furret isn't the most powerful pokemon out there, but, hello, that doesn't matter at all! she happily uses her furret at any time, and usually keeps it close! it's often out of its poke-ball and hanging around with her. she'll always have a soft spot for her loyal, wiggly companion. just look at it rubbing its little paws together. awwwwww.


cynthia, of course, was more than thrilled to find that the champion of the sinnoh region had the same name as her, and immediately idolized her. it's well known that cynthia's main pokemon is her garchomp, and in an attempt to mimc her, the kalon cynthia wanted a gible to match! she chose not to evolve the pokemon because, well, garchomp is big and scary and intimidating, and cynthia was still rather fond of her little gible. it's unfortunately rather fond of....chewing......and, unfortunately, the most common target - cynthia's tail. welp. she doesn't have it in her to do anything about it, she loves her little ground shark baby too much. it doesn't always see too much use in battle but she likes to feed it quite a bit


cynthia's first pokemon was a cyndaquil, she absolutely adored the little pokemon, and cared deeply for it, taking it everywhere. she loved the little fire pokemon, and was absolutely more than thrilled when it evolved into quilava (it looked sort of like a ferret, which made her incredibly happy). because of the pokemon's power, however, she used it in battle a lot more than she realized, and when it evolved into typhlosion and became.....big.......she was horrified at first. she hadn't expected it at all (the idea that pokemon evolved wasn't foreign to her, she just didn't expect something so....big) ! she eventually learned to love the bigger weasel just as much as she had before. this typhlosion especially adores belly rubs, and cynthia is more than happy to give them at any time. it's very defensive of cynthia and won't let anything happen to her ever.


as i'm sure we've all realized, cynthia is not exactly the most creative pokemon trainer out there. her desire to collect ferret/weasel pokemon spans across all regions. but of course, she doesn't care. cynthia's mienshao is her strongest pokemon, because she used it so much in an attempt to get it to evolve. she really likes the pokemon's sort of elegant look and is happy to have it high jump kick absolutely anything (she goes a little gung ho sometimes and the amount of times the move has missed is...probably more than it should regularly). the poor mienshao is very often knocked out because of cynthia's own reluctance to use absolutely anything BUT high jump kick. poor pokemon. it's definitely more patient than it should be, given its situation.


cynthia, as with many others, is cursed with, well, laziness. if she can, say, get somewhere without walking, yes. she caught a taillow in order to have a pokemon that could fly, but found that the tiny bird could not carry her weight. she was really quite upset about that, but she kept the taillow with her because she felt bad tossing it aside so easily. she took the pokemon with her, and after some time it evolved into swellow, and this bigger bird was better able to carry her places, which, of course, she was completely thrilled by. she uses swellow to fly her everywhere. the poor thing is probably so tired but it patiently carries cynthia everywhere she needs to go. all of her pokemon are so patient.......how do they do it?


while traveling, cynthia found herself enamored by water routes - she was really excited to see what lay out in the big blue ocean, but she didn't have a pokemon that could take her across them. she was at the beach and couldn't pass the route to move on with her journey because she couldn't cross the water, and a former trainer asked her to take his lapras so that it could travel more. cynthia had probably never been more excited in her life - she cherishes the lapras a lot and loves riding on it to cross rivers and oceans and everything she can. she just loves spending time in the middle of the water with her lapras. she wishes that lapras could carry all of her pokemon outside of their pokeballs so that they could all travel together, but lapras isn't quite strong enough for that. oh well. she'll make do. at one point, she went back to the beach to see if she could find lapras' former trainer again, but he disappeared. she wants to find him again, to thank him, but she's never been able to yet.

Tanner - Sheildon - Level 15
This was the first pokemon Nessy ever caught. He was so excited
since it reminded him of a triceratops - his favourite dinosaur at the time.
Nessy accidentally found them surprisingly. They found them when they
went out on a family trip. He never actually trained him though...


Ero - Salamence - Level 58
If Nessy had to choose a favourite, It'd be Ero.
He just loves everything about him, his colours, wings,
anatomy.. everything. This was the second pokemon Nessy found,
but it will always be his first favourite.


Timmy - Archeops - Level 42
Timmy. Nessy's third pokemon.. He found them when he and his
family went on a camping trip, and stumbled into a forest. Little
did he know he'd find timmy there. This has to be his second favourite
pokemon.. it just reminds him of so many things.


Tay - Meowstic - Level 82
Honestly, Nessy can't even remember how he got Tay.
All he can remember about him is training them until they
were the highest levelled in his team.. but even then he only
remembers them faintly. Odd.


Pidge - Rattata - Level 25
Nessy found Pidge in an alleyway. They were in a small cardboard
box with a newspaper, and decided to take them in. He couldn't handle
the cuteness of him. Even though his friends say he's not cute..


Pan - Linoone - Level 43
Nessy found Pan outside his house one rainy day. He stared at them
for a while, before he finally decided to take Pan in. Nessy just
couldn't stand watching the thing sit out in the rain and get all wet.
