You glance between the two paths a few times, weighing the pros and cons of further exploration versus progressing in the maze and finding out what else the farm has to offer. As you look around, you spot a big cornstalk a few paces away, sort of curled over at the top. It's leaning into its neighbor, and the way the two stalks press together makes the shape of a perfect heart! β‘

You start to lean towards exploring the darker path, but decide that if you do, you're going to take a few precautions. You take some fallen dried leaves from underneath the cornstalks and use a few to make an "x" on the ground at this fork in the maze. When* you come back around later, you'll have a marker to tell you where to go! It's a comforting thought.

As you continue to ponder your options, you take another look at the stubby purple mushrooms decorating the path to your right. They're dusted with pollen from the corn husks and flecked with little white spots. Oddly charming, now that you're looking at them more closely. A little frog jumps out of the corn stalks and sits atop a big toadstool. He looks up at you and gives you a big ribbit.
