Emergency Aeonian Aid EventA large group of wild Aeonians showed up last night! They're absolutely filthy! I can't even tell what they look like underneath.
Unfortunately, the Aeonian Center for Equine Development doesn't have the necessary space to take them all in. They need your help! They're looking for stables that will take in these wild Aeonians, and care for them until they can get to testing them. There's reason to believe some of these new Aeonians will introduce a few new mutations to the domesticated species!
Once you've taken in a horse, make sure to give them a bath! Once they're bathed, A.C.E.D. will get to testing! Hopefully we'll find some unique beauties from this herd!
Be sure to register your stable with Exotica. so the A.C.E.D. know where to find you, and your untested Aeonians!

How you gained his trust: I gained this nervous, protective stallion's trust, later coming to be named Nightingale, by patience and kindness. At first, he wanted nothing to do with humans. Over the course of the next few days though, things changed. He realized I was here for him, there was no need to be afraid any longer. Gradually, our bond grew. He let me slip a golden halter over him, the same brilliant color as his eyes. He let me lead him, feed him from my hand, begin to do liberty work. He took to me like a bird does to the sky. Nightingale is an intelligent stallion with kind gold eyes, the color of crisp wheat fields. Eventually, he moved from the round pen to the stables, then to the pasture. His life was just beginning, his life of never-ending love, care, and possibility!

Show Name: Lonely travelers dream
Barn Name: Dream
Gender: Stallion
Height: 16.2
Halter & Hardware Color: dark blue with silver hardware
How you gained his trust: Stuck in a dream that’s how I would discribe this stallion when he first arrived. At first I couldn’t get though to him at all. He refused the honey oats and mashes I gave him, grazing the tough grass that grew in his round pen instead. I took one of my mares out for a trail ride a few days after Dream arrived, when I got to the edge of the meadow I heard a shrill whiny. I turned to see Dream pacing back and forth in the round pen. At first I thought perhaps it was because Of the mare, but I realized that Dreams eyes weren’t on her, they were on the meadow. So the next day I carefully slipped a rope around Dreams neck and opened the gait. Dream nearly cantered to the meadow, I had to hold him back. When he reached the meadow he slowed and looked me in the eyes, before lowering his head to graze. We spent all day in the meadow, bounding like a wild herd would. When the sun began to go down I started to wonder how I would get him back. A few minutes later Dream raised his head and started to walk back to the round pen. I was surprised and happy, I walk near him and opened the gait as quietly as possible. He walked in and began to eat the oats I had given him. Over the next few weeks I developed a schedule. Every morning I would take Dream out to the meadow and I introduce him to new things in a familiar place. Dream has grown to love some new things, but he will always love to trail ride or just graze in the meadow.

Show Name: Lúnasa Sneachta
Barn Name: Talún
Gender: Stallion
Height: 17 hh
Halter & Hardware Color: #ded3c0 (light sand tone) + Silver
How you gained his trust:
Wild, headshy and a loudmouthed two-year old, Talún came to B&N with less patience than even a pair of flies bickering over the best landing. His ears always switching, eyes wide in both fear and curiosity, he was a vocal force when approached. Nothing could tame his need to be heard, and after the first night with no sleep from any horse or nearby person an idea struck. Introductions were made, but timid Sarah was no match, nor old Raikan. So Judge was brought into the pen, no words exchanged but a whisper in her ear.
"Go teach him, Judge." Serris, property owner and manager, told the mare. She snorted but ambled into the pen, sniffing around the edges slowly; curious as she was, Serris chuckled when Judge refused to approach the stallion. Instead she waited for him, though her ears flicked back when he would cry out. Leaving them to it, Serris came back before the day was over to find the stallion still on the opposite side, eyes fearful as Judge dozed on her own spot. The next morning, Serris smiled to find Talún sleeping next to her, head lowered and ears dropping dopily to each side. When she shook her buckets of grain, he started and nearly leaped onto Judge, but she calmed him with a quick nip and disgruntled snort. But Serris gave him the space he needed, instead working with Judge for a few minutes each morning, a few before lunch, and giving her a good brushing and talking with her before heading for her bed.
It took four days longer before he was trusting enough, with Judge next to him, to eat his grain next to Serris. Two months after, however, Talún was a quiet, respectful little guy with prospects for Endurance Trials.

Barn Name: Valhalla

Height: 17.3hh
Halter & Hardware Color: black + red halter, gold silverwear
How you gained his trust:
The moment he arrived we knew he was going to be trouble; high-strung, hot headed and never willing to trust. The fact that he came to us as a ten year old didn't help our cause at all, he was wild, set in his ways, unwilling to change. Frankly, we didn't know what to do with him or even where to put him, he pinned our helper gelding up against the gate, pushing him through it. We think the only thing that made him move was the person sprinting over and flapping a lungewhip around like a mad man. That did help us either.
For the first week I sat outside the pen doing whatever i was doing. Some days I listened to music, others I drew, but in between it all I watched him and what made him tick. On day three he had gotten curious but as he approached, a gust of wind blew the hat off my head, spooking him and sending him back into his corner. Day by day his curiosity grew. I had taken to ignoring him, not allowing even a glance. This made him determined on getting into my space, gaining that attention he so desperately craved after his time in solitude. I couldn't risk bringing in another horse after what had happened. By week two, I was inside his pen and he approached but I never dared touch until the day my best friend brought her goat around in a desperate attempt to get rid of him. This sparked Valhalla's interest and after some convincing had the goat put with him. The presence of this 'support animal' helped him learn to relax, gaining the goat's calm and friendly energy, and learning to trust the human handlers as much as his buddy did.

Winner!
So many adorable, and sweet stories of gaining this boy's trust!
This one in particular made me laugh a little, imagining this tall stallion meandering about with a goat!
I'll give Valhalla a bath, and send A.C.E.D. over to test him! :3
