Costume!: A chimera! This lion has taken the time to make themselves a lovely chimera costume, sewn (pretty terribly) by themselves. That definitely made them feel prideful on the matter. The costume consists of two parts: a snake head and a goat head. The snake head is simple; it looks like it might've been a human's old green sock before this lion found it. Two black circles have been drawn on for the eyes, and a pink piece of fabric has been stuck on to represent the tongue. The snake head has then been carefully slipped over this lion's tail, though they have had to keep it lifted up in the air for most of the night to keep it from coming off. Talk about tiring. The goat head, on the other end, is anything but. It looks like an old pillow case with some stuffed animal stuffing inside of it. With a bit of effort, this lion was able to make it look a bit like a goat head in shape. From there, he drew on two very derpy, cross-eyed eyes and used the rest of the pink fabric to make this head's tongue stick out too. The more ambitious part of the project was finding two sticks from bushes that were curly to represent its horns; as they tended to be thicker base branches, this made the head incredibly heavy. This lion finally attached them on by the ears that they drew on the pillowcase, and then attached the head to their shoulder. They expected it to stay up much better than it did; the head itself droops on the ground and is dragged along, probably weighed down by the heavy horns this lion chose (and the shoddy craftmanship). Still, they seem proud of it, so no one has had the heart to criticize the piece that looks like a cub created it.
Why they've chosen this costume?: Unlike many people who have heard stories of chimeras being terrible monsters, this lion's papa always told them stories of the warrior chimeras, heroes of old. They were taught that they were blessed by the ancestors as guardians over their prides, transformed from normal lions into chimeras. Since then, this lion has dreamed of becoming a guardian for his pride, wishing that the ancestors would transform him as well. This is, so far, the closest that he can get.

One of these days a-coming, I'm gonna take that boy's crown

Cause I am, I am a little wicked
I am, I am
Hands red, hands red just like he said

I am a little wicked

No one calls you honey when you're sitting on a throne

Costume!:
The costume is themed off of the Immortals this lions pride believe exist and live among them in secret, sometimes feeding off of the energy and positive emotions of those around them.
The costume has a head piece that wraps around in front of the ears and is made of red roses.
There is a sleeveless vest or bodice-like piece that is black with thin, silver spiderweb print over what appears to be fabric, maybe left behind by a human? The webbing is real though, placed there by spiders who helped make the costume.
For a cape this lions used sap, and maybe some more webbing, to stick black feathers together and form a cape that covers their back and has a raised collar.
For accessories this lions took small animal skulls and red looking stones and formed a necklace out of them.
They also made 'bracelets'made of the same red stones, carefully rubbed against other rocks until they were smooth and shiny.
Using a powdery white substance, also compliments of the healer, they made a sort of face paint and their animals friends/servants helped make skeletal shapes on their head, legs, and sides to complete the look.

Why they've chosen this costume?:

This lion wanted to look elegent, but also scary. And the tales of the Immortals, feeding off of their energy and feelings of love for one another, have long fascinated them. In truth, they find the tales a little frightening! But are still very curious despite that and hope to one day meet such a lion. In the meantime dressing like one is the next best thing, even incroperating the red roses for love, the feathered cape simply for looks but also to hide behind like a true immortal might.
They hope to dazzle their pridemates with this costume for sure, and maybe scare a few!

Costume!:
The Great Lion/Dark Dragon Hybrid.

They still look like a lion in this costume but they've used tree bark and darkly pigmented soil to add scales on their legs and back. To keep the tree bark attached they used tree sap. They also attached sticks to create horns on their head and nose. Using tree branches that contained large leaves, they attached them to their neck with a grass necklace to create the illusion of wings. They have also used the pigmented soil to make their face look like a dragon by adding shadows and scale markings. Lastly they have tied some leaves to their tail to give it a spade tail appearance.

Why they've chosen this costume?:

TBD grew up hearing stories about the stars. Their mother always seemed to have an explanation for every constellation, and would spend hours showing TBD how to find them in the night sky. TBD's favorite story growing up was called "The Great Lion and the Dragon". It was a grand adventure about a magic lion who was born from the sun. He was tasked with keeping the evil Dark Dragon of the moon away from the prides that lived upon the earth. The story goes that the two creatures battled for centuries, constantly at war to overpower each other. However, one day the Dark Dragon managed to land a devastating blow on the Great Lion. Fearing that the world would be plunged into chaos, the Great Lion fused himself with the Dark Dragon and trapped their combined body in the sky. However once they were settled in the sky, the magic failed and the two beings were separated once again, forming the constellation's Leo and Draco. Forever bound to the sky and forever warring with each other. This time, away from the prides of the earth.

TBD loved this story and now they have cubs of their own to pass the story onto. So they decided to dress up as the combined body of the Great Lion and the Dark Dragon as a way to best tell their cubs this story.

Costume!:Beetlejuice

With a Fluorescent Green mane and a chalky white substance on his creme fur.The lion quickly puts on his dashing black and white striped suit.He quickly turns to the mirror in front of him and applied dark eye shadow to his eyes and black contacts to his eyes. After all that work he applies more fluorescent herb paint to the fluffy tip on the end of his tail and painted spots on near his hairline and some on his body. Looking mighty proud of his new costume the lion saunters off to the cemetery awaiting for someone to summon him. Beetle... Breakfast... Orange... Liquid... Beetle Juice? BeetleJuice? You said it two times, come on. Say it one more time Love! The lion started quoting while miming the movie.

Why they've chosen this costume?:The lion chose this rather interesting costume because he loves the vintage Halloween movie. The 80’s time period is what he loves the most ,the movies ,the neons and the Music! This is one of his top five Halloween Movies and well ever since the turned the movie into a musical,He’s been even more obsessed! He highly recommends that you watch the movie and listen to the musical soundtrack. Even if it is a bit cheesy it is rather hilarious to see what was going through the directors mind. Plus he loves the black and white striped suit he had recently picked up and wanted to have a excuse to wear it out and about.

A Image in case anyone didn’t know what beetlejuice looks like!

Costume!: Wendigo! They have gotten a deer/antelope skull, to sit atop their fluffy body, completely hiding their face away, their claws already work for the costume as is, so although it's simple costume, it's super effective! They also use blood on the skull/face/paws, and they use the ribcage and spine of the animal also as an added touch, to make them look more skeletony. Their thin but furry frame just really sets the whole mood!
Why they've chosen this costume?:
The lionesses at Luna L'vitsa are a very open pride. They accept lions of all different beliefs and from a large range of places! So they often can hear many types of folklore from all sorts of members! This member just so happens to have brought the folklore of the wendigo, even though they don't really believe the lore, its still an excellent and entertaining tail they share with the cubs, especially around this time of year! Also it looks super cool and wicked, so who wouldn't want to dress like it! and it brings back memories of their old pride, and some of the members they miss from it.
i just really like wendigos sorry x3

Costume!: Tired mom. A brown hair wig tied into a bun, plush lion cub on their back, and a target bag on their shoulder, along with a purse. Wearing a plaid shirt and jeans, and looks as if they haven't slept in 16 months.
Why they've chosen this costume?: Skull wants to be a dad. Even a mom, even though that isn't possible. He's desperate for a cub, even if it's a full-grown lion who gets groomed twice daily by him because "darling you need to look presentable"

Costume!: The mythical griffin. Or is it gryphon? Perhaps griffon? Anyway. Half lion. Half bird. Wings that have been crafted from feathers and sticks. A mask created using a skull, feathers, and beeswax.
Why they've chosen this costume?: Why bother making a full costume when you can fashion a full look only making half? Being a lion has its perks and in this particular costume, you can look like a mythical creature. Unfortunately, the wings don’t grant the ability to fly and you do not gain the sight of an eagle. However, you still look pretty cool.

Pride: The Crystal Pride
Costume!:
They've painted their face a blank white using the pigment of bone, creating a ghostly mask-like look. Using the texture created by a rough rock covered with the same white pigment, they have dappled their chest, back and hide respectively with white speckles and the end results create a look quite resembling the stars in a night sky.
They have stuck various types of owl feathers in their mane, having intentionally gone overboard and added so many that their mane appears as if it were made entirely of feathers. On their paws, delecately crafted bracelets string together pure quartz crystals taken directly from the pride's sacred crystal cavern. These crystals click against one another as the wearer walks, adding to the graceful, mysterious look and generating what the lions believe to be "the chiming sound that a spirit makes when it crosses your path". With a costume like this, they are confident they can convince the pride that the moon goddess will be walking among them on All Hallows Eve.
Why they've chosen this costume?:
As the pride is very superstitious and spiritually oriented, this particular lion was inspired to create a costume based on the moon goddess spoken of in their previous pride's legend. This deity is said to watch over the pride at night and protect them from any evil spirits that attempt to cross their paths, which is why the pride pays tribute to her on Halloween, hopeful that she will save them during the darkest time of the year.
The moon goddess is a kind figure most often resembled as a lion. Her face is described to be the moon, and her body as the night sky. She is also often described to have wings, though as the costumed lion couldn't possibly recreate this using local resources, they opted to deck themselves in feathers belonging to the birds of the night instead.
The crystal bracelets were an additional add on as a symbol of the pride and their beliefs of the crystals being the link to the living world for spirits and all things supernatural.
