Prompt:
As an apprentice, Seapaw had to make the hardest decision of her life. It was during a flood and cats were hiding in the trees to escape the strong surges of water. The tree was almost full to the topmost branches and she had to decide who to let up onto the tree, her mother, Softwillow, or her sister, Lambpaw. In the end, she chose her sister as they had a better relationship, and to this day Seaturtle sees herself as a murderer and constantly apologizes to her mother who now lives in StarClan.

It was a harsh snarl; all too quick for Asterleaf to completely comprehend what was happening. She knew she wasn't safe, it was dangerous, and yet -

If she had to be brutally honest in her answer, it would be that staying in Skiftclan was the hardest choice she had ever made. Asterleaf had been born here and, as of that, had somewhat more honour than the other cats. It didn't change, she always felt.. uncomfortable. She saw how West reacted and lashed out at other cats, the obvious mistreatment towards those who weren't from those who came before them. West hadn't even been clan born, Asterleaf couldn't see what her problem in everything was.

It was safer outside of Skiftclan, even if West constantly deemed the outside was too dangerous. The fear stopped her from leaving, even if she craved that freedom. She had respect, honour and advantages against others here, she should be happy with her place. She wasn't allowed to complain, she had it off easy when compared to some of the others of the clan. Why get upset about what's happening to others; that's what West always enforced, that Asterleaf was lucky, she had everything that could every be offered to her.

But it was never enough.
