Short Story: Chloris was born in the meadows of Ireland. She was born on the first day of Spring, and according to her mother, as she was born, the first flower in the meadow bloomed. From a young age, Chloris was a mischievous little filly! She LOVED to play tricks on the other horses in the herd. One day, she went to play a prank on one of her closest friends, a filly named
Solar, but Solar was nowhere to be found! Chloris had hid herself in a bush on the edge of the meadow, but when she noticed, she jumped out of the bush and looked frantically looked about for her friend. The longer she looked, the more she realized, SHE COULDN'T FIND ANYONE! All the other horses had disappeared! She ran about the meadow, calling out for her mother, but alas, she received no answer. After 30 minutes of running around looking, she retired back to the little tree in the meadow that she favors most to sleep under and laid down. Once there, she heard the thundering of hooves on the grass and looked up. All of the sudden, all the horses were back! They all stormed at her, throwing their heads happily, and surrounded her. They looked at her with mischievous looks in their eyes, and she realized, they all had just pranked her. She felt so dumb to have not realized it before! From then on, she played less pranks on the others, now knowing how it felt - of course, that didn't stop her from playing tricks on Solar! [262 words]
