Couldn't resist making another kiddo, so here we go! For this one,
tell me of a time they went hunting for fish. Luola tend to stick
to the pond inside their cave, but occasionally may dare to
venture down to the river. Where did they go, did they catch
anything, did they run into anyone? Get creative! Feel free to
place them in an au if you like.

You are allowed one extra of either one art piece or 500 words!

Prompt Response; This Saukko traveled down to the river, but something odd happened...

Cornell sat next to the river. His whiskers twitched as he lightly dipped his paw in the water. Cornell dove into the icy blue. An odd sensation filled his bones, there were no fish... A small gaping hole appeared at the bottom of the river bed. He swam towards it, small bubbles rose from the area. The insides of the hole was crystal like and glassy. Carefully Cornell sucked in his stomach and soared through the hole.

It was odd, the water was clear with glowing specs. Cornell had made it to the other side, another universe. Small silvery fish swam through the ripples of the glass like water. Cornell pushed to the top of the water taking a breath at the surface. His eyes darted around for a second, it was all darkness. The marking on his shoulder blew brightly as he dove back into the water. Quickly Cornell lunged out at a pearlescent fish. He examined the creature in between his claws and shrugged. After finishing his hunting Cornell dove back through the hole. The fish were all held against his chest. As the Saukko stood on the river bank. He smiled seeing all the flowers and trees. The fish against his chest wriggled. Cornell set the fish down gently and examined them. One of them lifted from the ground. It’s sides unfolded into wings. Panic filled his eyes, the Saukko held the rest of the fish down. His eyes followed the soaring fish, a small rose on his lips. Cornell let go of the fish. They all flew into the sky soaring through the clouds. He smiled and watched as their scales flickered in the light.

"Lucienne!" Aries called after the dark-furred saukko. Lucienne looked over her shoulder briefly at her clanmate, flashing a toothy grin before darting further down the river. Aries, admitting his defeat, turned tail and bolted back into the safety of the cave. The young saukko wound along the river, her tail twitching happily. Her parents hardly ever let her leave the Luola Klanni's cave and system of tunnels. Any time that they weren't looking in her direction, Lucienne slipped out of the cave and escaped. She never got really far though. She usually always stayed a paw-step away from the entrance, overcome with a sudden urge to return to the cave.

Today was different.

Lucienne's paws carried her further and further away from the safety of the cave and the protection of her clanmates. The urge to return to the cave never came and tugged Lucienne back. Instead, something was tugging her towards the water. The dark-furred female crouched down next to the river, her warm brown eyes flitting back and forth as she searched for the familiar flash of scales. Just as she was about to lash out after a fish, a heavy weight dropped on her shoulders. Lucienne let out a wail and bucked,
trying to knock off her attacker.

The weight disappeared, allowing Lucienne to scramble to her paws. She whirled around and bared her fangs, only to freeze when she saw a dark brown, almost black, Maa saukko looming over her, his own fangs bared in a snarl. Normally, Lucienne would already be latched onto the Maa's throat but this one was much bigger than her. "What are you doing here?" He growled.

Lucienne's mouth opened in a reply but snapped shut again, her eyes wide. He frowned, his tail twitching angrily. "You can't be here. This is Vesi territory." He stepped back, his tail swishing as he gave her space to regain her composure.

"You can't be here either." Lucienne retorted with a smirk, nodding towards the Maa mark on his shoulder. He snorted slightly, rolling his eyes.

"You're a smart-mouth, aren't you?"

"Possibly." Lucienne said, tilting her chin up defiantly. "What's your name?"

"Lucian." He replied. Lucienne nodded before moving around him, brushing her tail against his shoulder as she headed back in the direction of Luola's cave. "Wait, what's your name?"

Lucienne looked back over her shoulder and flashed him a smile. "Come back tomorrow and maybe you'll find out."

"I made sure that when I left the cave, I was going to make the most of it. It was my first time being truly outside. I did get to witness real sunshine when I was much younger but we were never allowed outside out of fear that something would harm us.

Well, today was the day I could feel like a true adult and hunt for food instead of using that old pond down in the caves.
Some more experienced hunters gave me strict warning but who am I to listen to them and not make my own rules? It's not like they're leading my life. I can make my own path. As soon as I made contact with the grass and sunlight, I shoot out as fast as a frightened squirrel. I heard some others yelling and the sound of some paws crashing on the ground chasing after me but I was too quick for them. They soon gave up the chase and I was home free.

After that nice burst of running I got tired as I drew closer to the river. It raged on like an angry animal. I took a brief rest under a nearby rock and then finally got up to take a sip of the cool water. Afterwards, I stretched my somewhat sore legs and began searching for a better spot to catch a bit of fish. The rumors back in the clan was that the river fish tasted WAY better than the pond fish and there were some fish that were as big as a fox! I wanted to see if I could catch one of those big 'fox-fishes' myself.
I padded along the edge of the river, taking in the nature and beauty. There was this interesting and brightly colored bird perched on a branch just above me. It sang a pretty little tone than paused to get the replies of the other, more noisy birds.

"I maybe I can catch a bird instead!", I thought as I stood by the base of the tree, the little bird still singing happily.

I'm not very good at climbing since I spent most of my life in a deep, dark cave but I do know how to climb rocks. Isn't climbing trees as easy as climbing rocks? Nope. I scrabbled angrily at the tree bark for a solid 5 minutes before I let out a growl of frustration. I swear that bird was mocking me. Something told me I had to get the last word and the next thing you know, I was swearing vengeance and curses at the stupid, colorful bird. After a while, the bird flew away and I made sure to scream out the last of my revenge.

I turned back to tree only to be startled by the presence of two Puu Klaani members hanging in the trees. They didn't seem aggressive but they sure seemed amused by my altercation with a bird. I shrunk back with embarrassment as the two chuckled between themselves.

"Hey don't worry, we won't tell anybody about this.", shouted one of the Puu members, a female that stretched herself out on the branch. "But I highly advise you to get going before the Vesi come along."

"Yea...thanks...sorry you had to see that...sorry.", I stammered as I shyly backed up and turned to leave.

"Hey, maybe we'll see you around...'bird screamer'.", she said as she rolled over lazily, keeping such good balance on the branch.

"Yea...maybe.", I muttered as I headed back home to the tunnels.
