Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.

Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

story:
When Anne was smaller, they were pretty use to the royal
life. It was pretty nice to them, not having to really do
anything and being waited on hand and foot. But one day,
their mother and father took them out to watch the soldiers
train. Anne was reluctant at first, thinking it was going to be
boring and all they wanted to do was play with their dolls.
Instead of complaining, they watched out at all of the soldiers
as their father told them about the wars these people had
been in and an upcoming war that they were going to have to
fight. Anne then realized, at the age of 8, that life wasn't all
proper and nice for everyone. They talked to their parents
about being trained, and after a word-battle with them, they
decided to let Anne go, sure they were going to quit the life of
a soldier and come back to them. Now, at the age of 21, Anne
is on the front lines and making sure their soldiers are safe at
every scrap or war they get into. They prefer the life of
protecting others than the life of being sheltered and protected.

story: Fýllo sprang through the doors into school. He had been waiting to see his boyfriend all summer. He was so excited that he almost slammed into his locker. He grabbed his books and notebooks and put them in his backpack, like he always did. He closed it and started to go toward his first class, math. He always hated math, he was never good at it and he couldn't ever remember any of it, anyway. He spotted his friend across the hall and ran up to her. "Hey! Haven't seen you all summer! I've been so lonely without you guys." His friend hugged him tightly. "I missed you!" She ran off to her class and Fýllo blushed slightly and smiled. He ran to class, realizing they had almost started already. He bolted through the halls until he saw the classroom and as soon as he entered he saw his supposed boyfriend smacking on Fýllo's friend, who he had just talked to. Fýllo ran out of the room crying, allowing his tears to soak his shirt. His boyfriend cheated on him! With a girl! "My God, this is what I get for loving you?" Ever since then Fýllo's been quite the unstable sweet boy {200}

It happened on the day the leaves began to fall, carried along the ground by warm fall winds. They were gold and red and yellow and burned with a ferocity to rival the sun. Halcyon remembered that day vividly. Even now, when just the faintest scent of crisp leaves or fresh coffee drifts over him, he's brought back to that time. For that moment changed everything in his life. The realization that life, despite its shedding of old, would be born again. Snow would blanket the land, and the world would then be bathed in sunlight and fresh grass.
Halcyon smiled, for he too would follow suit. Life had grown dark and cold, his heart covered in a swath of ice. Heartbreak was a fickle thing and Halcyon had suffered for months amid realization. Among fallen leaves and the soft lull of coffee shop tunes, he knew that life would once again begin anew, for his spring was just around the corner.

you flex your hand slowly, the gauntlet unmoving, minus where your fingers are. you dont remember how you got this, you just know that it wont come off. the ruby sitting prettily in a socket located where the flat of your hand is glows ominously, but it's a weak, dull glow. the word sickly comes to mind, as you stare at the gauntlet, you fail to notice the dying grass around you until you hear an ear-piercing shriek, and raise your eyes to catch a terrifying sight.

everyone knows the myth of scylla and ignitus. a prophecy had long ago been foretold; on the eve of autumn's fiftieth cycle, they would return, and set the world into a chaos unlike any mortal has witnessed. no one truly believed they existed though...

until now.

the flap of wings makes you flinch, tense, and you look up to see the village you've spent your entire life in burn to the ground it once stood proudly upon for centuries. the air is charged, filled with electricity, and the growing glow of the gauntlet is hard to ignore.

on shaky knees, you run, the draconic screams of scylla and ignitus roaring in your ears.

Moments tend to come and go silently, without reason and in a sudden flash.
They happen and then are forgotten as time ticks away.
However, certain moments stick with us.
Some for no apparent reason, others because we wish for them to stay,
and some the more we try to relinquish them
from our subconscious the tighter a grasp they hold.
For me this was the 7/16/1952 at 2:41 pm.
I had run to the grocery store for my mother and returned home to our small country house.
I was greeted by silence, so I dropped the bags and darted to my mother's room
and collapsed to the ground in shock.
My mother was seizing on the wood floor.
I carried her down the street on my back to the local physician.
The doctor told us she was blessed and would live,
however, she would be bedridden for the rest of her life.
In that moment, my entire life turned around.
I had planned for years to become a flight attendant,
to travel across the world.
In a single minute I had gone from a youthful girl with dreams to an adult,
trapped by the need to survive.

Her mother did the best she could to shield jen from her father but since her mother worked pretty much all day, she couldn't stop him from hurting her. One day, there was no sign of her father all morning so she went outside to play since her father never let her outside. A few moments later, the house caught up in flames with her mother still inside. She could see her father on the side of the house laughing hysterically. She heard her moms voice echo in her head. "Run jen, run and don't look back!" While in tears, she followed her mothers words. She learned to never trust men after that. She now devotes her life to families suffering from abuse.
