"Oh Lord, Oh Lord, I’m begging you please!",
cried out a slender, long haired kalon, tears streaming down her rose red cheeks. She
lay on the marble floor of a winter white room, water puddling around her paws as
she tried to reason with them. "Don’t take that sinner from me", she sobbed under
her breath. The entirety of the crowd began shaking their heads, a silent no echoed
through the room. She had hope that they might be plausible but it seems they
were as obstinate as ever. Shattering lives and hearts once again.

The largest of them stood, she towered before the large crowd. Belladonna's sobbing grew silent as she over heard her superior speaking amongst the few around her. The tension raised as they awaited the sentencing for the tribulation. “Punishment!", declared the large angelic figure. She was vivid with anger. If she could not control her anger, it was most likely more serious than she had imagined. Those close and far from her arose at the command, gathering towards the back. Her sentence was punishment, the worst outcome of one of these trials so of course everyone was on edge. Everyone, even Bella, agreed that she deserved it though, she’d disobeyed the code and entered the mortal realm without orders. Originally she was sent out to return an escaped soul, but it seems she felt she should return. Even worse is that she fell for a man during the trip, a king named Eddard. No matter his status or name, it was a mistake worthy of punishment.
In walked two muscular kalons, their bodies lined with thick armor with the crest of the gods engraved into them. The grabbed onto her back legs, dragging her down the corridor towards the forbidden room. She’d always wondered what stood just behind those doors, anyone who entered had never left. Not that anyone really entered it as most were too afraid of what would happen to disobey, why couldn’t she have been one of the masses and stayed true to the rules? No time to wonder though, what ever was going to happen was only moments away.
They threw her onto the cold, stone floor. She let out a low groan from the powerful impact. The room was much darker than the stories had said. It was difficult to tell what lay inside, even if she was behind its doors already. Around the borders glowed strange markings, runes possibly? They looked nothing like she’d seen in her centuries as a librarian or guardian. Maybe a forgotten language that was, well, too forgotten for modern records.
Too caught up in thought about these markings, she jumped at the sudden noise as another kalon appeared from seemingly thin air. She wore a deep red cloak covering everything. She seemed slightly familiar though, but then again Bella protected the gate to life and death so any life that’s ever lived or died has most likely passed her, making it nothing much if Bella had seen the other before. The cloaked kalon walked around, feeling for something until she reached it. When she did, she tapped on the cover of a book and a quill (or at least thats what it seemed to be, as Bella couldn’t see what was going on). As the other kalon tapped, it seemed to open. Certainly no normal book in that case, most likely a wizards scroll or an enchantresses journal. She began writing, the quill scratching the pages as if they were made of stone. As Belladonna heard the scratching, everything seemed to disappear.
She awoke moments later into a temperate forest, the suns warm rays shined upon her back as she laid on the hard dirt. She scanned the area, unsure of what was going on. Was that all a long dream? It couldn’t be though, if it was wouldn’t she be getting memory of this place or something of that nature? She studied the trees, the ferns, the flowers but it was entirely different from anything she knew… or was it? As she further looked she noticed something familiar about it. No, couldn’t be, it was impossible. The harder she looked the more she noticed.
She was inside a book, not any book. The last page of a story her mother used to read her. Oh, it was a perfect punishment! Trapped inside the pages of her childhood without anything but plants here! She took a deep breath, trying to calm down and figure this out but it had no real effect on anything. In a burst of anger she cried out, ripping a handful of grass from the ground. Not only had she lost her love, she had lost everything.
From there forth all the world was to her was plants, it's everything that existed in this space. No matter how far she ventured, only shrubs or vines would follow. So what's her relationship with plants? They were everything, her devils and her angels. They were the only thing she’d be able to see in her life time. No, no thats wrong, she could get out, but how to escape she had yet to learn. From then on she traveled the lands inside the page, searching for anything that may connect to her freedom. She knew, or at least hoped, greenery wouldn’t be the last thing she saw before death.
