Occupation:
Marcus was 9 years old, when he found out what he wanted to do with his life. He watched the winter Olympics skijumping in 2006 and encountered his future model. The Norwegian skijumper didn’t win the competition, but he somehow impressed Marcus a lot. So the young boy asked his parents to let him learn how to become a professional Skijumper.
Luck was on the little Kalons side. In the United Kingdom, it was hard to follow his dream, but his dad got a great job offer in Germany, so the whole family decided to move. In Germany Marcus visited a special sports school. He learned what’s important about skijumping. He started in some smaller competitions only two years later. That was, when the first problems occurred. He got disqualified, for having one big advantage, his fluffy tail. It took people a very long time, to recognise, this tail wasn’t an advantage at all. It actually was a disadvantage. They accepted him again at the smaller competitions, but told him, he will never be good enough for the world cup.
Marcus turned 16, when he first entered the continental cup. His trainers told him, this would be the highest he could get, but the young Kalon didn’t want to give up. He started to work even harder. Watched his food more exactly, tried to lose a little more weight, and built up some more muscles. Marcus was quite good, but not good enough for the German world cup team. Still Marcus didn’t want to give up. He changed to the UK’s team, what was no problem, since he was born there. He got a personal trainer, and had his first jumps in the world cup two years later. As the only skijumper from the United Kingdom. Well, he doesn’t always qualify, but he is part of the world cup now.
He still loves being a skijumper. The adrenalin in his veins when sitting at the start, the feeling of freedom during the jump, the applause afterwards, the company of the other jumpers, simply everything. The young Kalon loves how everyone is happy when someone has a good jump, and he will always congratulate the winner.
Marcus still keeps trying to improve. He will never give up, until he feels too old for his sport. He even has a plan for the time after his skijumping career. Marcus wants to become a trainer afterwards. He wants to help others to also make their dreams come true.

Today Im going to interview the skijumper Marcus from the United Kingdom.
Besides skijumping, what do you enjoy doing the most?
"Oh well, you know I have this hobby. Im a little addicted to planes. Like I need to collect models, especially those you need to put together and paint yourself. Also have a huge love for flight simulation games. And one day I will probably be able to fly a real plane."
So what is your favorite plane then?
"The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. Just love its design."
Nice choice! Thanks for the interview Marcus.
