Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.

Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off, which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

Poem: This is a poem about the love they hope to find

I hope to find someone that's true,
Who’ll be my friend and accept me too.
Someone who’ll hold me tight
Even if we get into fights
Someone who'll love me for me
And who can lay with my looking at the night sky
Someone who’ll be patient when times get rough
And who’ll love me even if he’s had enough
Someone who’ll stay by my side
Someone who can deal with my random happy moods
And someone who’ll cuddle with me too!
A guy who’s always on my side
Even though he’ll want to hide.
Someone who respects me even if I let out my flaws
Because I’ll respect him back even if he’s a pain in the…..butt

Out in the grassy meadows and waving tree branches,
stands a noble tree that is filled top-full with pink blossoms
The scent of them wafts through the open fields and tickles his nose.
The dirt beneath his brown-stained paws speaks in a low, rumbling tone.
There is something out there! Oh yes, across the hills there is something to see.
His eyes shine brightly, curiously, and his feet lead him forward towards the unknown.
He takes the final bounding leaps up the side of the mountain, breath held harshly.
The land on the other side is spread out many miles as far as the eye can see
Rivers twist between the trees as streaks of sunlight rain upon them,
casting a beautiful rainbow over the world.
The insects begin a charming tune filled
with excited chirps. The butterflies
fly past without a single worry.
Axel watches with curiosity
brimming in his vision.
He takes a grand step
down the new hillside,
his heart hammering in
his chest. Oh yes, he thinks,
this is the perfect place indeed!
