Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.

Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

Most dearest thing to them -- Diana's younger brother had gifted her a small, handmade ceramic pot on her 16th birthday. The pot was not well made in any sense, being half melted and gross-looking in any other eyes. Diana took to the little pot instantly, and when her brother was killed in an accident a few years down the line, the little pot is all she had left of him. She keeps it on a shelf near her bed, to remind her of the little brother she once had.

Finch works as a freelance artist, and is pretty great at what he does. However, he's easily discouraged when his art doesn't turn out how he hoped.
Whenever he needs some extra encouragement, he'll flip through the sketchbook to see how much he's improved. Each drawing in there he's redrawn dozens of times, and the difference helps him see how far he's come.

She makes her own owl plushies, but there is one very close to her heart so she always thinks it should be protected. As she is an 'over-protective' kalon, she would also be a good mother. No matter what, if she had kits she would make them her dearest things. But she doesn't have a mate, which she is still looking for. Whenever she is heartbroken, sad or upset about a certain thing, she would create new plushies, but Kalon plushies.

The night was cold. A breeze swept across Maxon, chilling him deep inside his bones. He carefully and slowly walked to the tree, silently slipping behind it. He loaded the arrow into his bow, then pulled back the string making no noise. He released the string and the arrow pierced through the air swiftly and quietly. Maxon watched as the arrow hit the deer, straight through the heart. He watched the deer that was before him. Once it had stopped moving, he took the deer antlers in his paws and began to drag it to the log cabin. There was smoke pouring out of the top of the house. they must be up he thought, as he got closer. He reached the home and set the deer in the shed. He knew he could come back to it in a little bit.As he walked in, the aroma of pancakes and bacon filled his nose. Mmm. He walked into the kitchen and saw his mother. "Morning ma" he said. "Happy birthday son!" She said and her warm smile filled the room. She slid the bacon onto a plate and set it on the table. "Have a seat" She said softly. Maxon sat down. And grabbed some pancakes then drizzled the syrup on. "So your 18 today, what's your plan? Leave and travel the world? Stay here with me? Something else?" She said as she readied her food. "I think I want to leave, but not exactly, stay here in the forest with you, but make my own home so I can have a family some day." Maxon replied smiling. "I had a feeling" his mother replied. She spoke again. "Son I'm getting older, there is something I have to give you, I think your old enough now." She retreated into her room and came out with a machete, hidden in a leather pouch. She handed it to him. "Your machete? T-thank you mom" he stammered. "But your not that old. Is something wrong?" He said after a while. "Son, I'm very ill, I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want you worried. Now no more of this nonsense, eat up!" She said and clapped her paws together.

Approximately two months later while on a trip Maxon receives a call from an unknown number

"Hello?" He said. "Is this Maxon?" The voice replied. "Yes" he said and fiddled with his paws. "I'm sorry but I regret to bring you the news that your mother has passed away." The number said. All Maxon could do was cry as he hung up the phone. He pulled out the machete that his mother gave him just two months earlier. He clutched the item to his chest, His most prized possession.
