The first time she saw a cat: It was a cozy day in the meadow of her new farm. Anette had just been transferred there from her birthfarm, but she didn't really mind. It seemed like a nice place after all, while there were other critters she seemed to be the only bovine there. She tried not to think it'd be lonely because of that, she could surely make friends with the other animals and maybe, as the only cow there at the time, she could get some extra special attention?

wip!
when does this end?

Story:
I had just brought home a large calf. Not so Frail, and quite noisy, she is a silly calf. Her moo's loud, as she pranced in the field where the grass is up to her belly, and the flowers tickle her nose. She looked at me cautiously, not even looking and bit into a large yellow dandelion tuff. Oh, I could tell she was a sassy cow, and got up to get her before she got into anything bad. As soon as I stood up she stopped. Walking closer she soon bellowed out a large moo for her size and pranced away. After a large sigh, I started to topple over the tall green grass to get her.

Hours of playing and running with her and I lost her, couldn't believe it. First day, and she poofed. I had searched high and low, the fence was up, no where for her to go. the light from the sun had dimmed, my face was burned a dark red, I got out a flashlight and headed back out. Nearing the barn I heard a loud Meow, sounded like one of the many strays that hangout around the house. I peeked in, lights on, the smell of hay hit me as I walked in. "Meow", a large purr echoed off the walls. I looked around at my other Buttermilks, both turned to the end of the large barn. And there I saw a little tail peaking out at the end. Oh so she found her way into the barn.. it was good to know she wasn't into n anything she be. Walking down the hall the purring was getting quite loud. In the last stall I saw something I didn't expect to see. Fae curled up with a newly mothered stray. I giggled the stripes of Fae made her fit in well with the tabby and calico kittens. My heart warned as the mother meowed at me and leaned close to the calf to clean her.

The cat, now a happy part of our family, is named Starrie, her kittens grew up with Fae, as she visited them and played with them as they grew, and as they grew older it wasn't uncommon to see them all nestled up with the big cow sleeping. Fae a big goofy cow still hides sometimes, but can always find her if I follow the meowing.

The first time she saw a cat:
She was perfect, her sweet eyes and grey pelt held a sort of softness that was comforting to say the least. It had been a frustratingly cold and rainy winter leaving Clary to feel uninterested in doing anything mildly active or stressful. Her thoughts had turned to fears as the sun went down and the day turned into a dark, dark night. The beautiful gray kitten was the perfect thing to calm her nerves on such a night. Her soft chest rising and falling, her small body nestled in the crook of her shoulder and neck. Clary had never met a cat before, but if all cats were like this she was sure her fears could be eased and eventually forgotten.
The only time she'd heard of cats were from the farm dogs who hated them for what she assumed were good reasons, perhaps not though, after all dogs were always quick to judge anyways. A soft whimper from the tiny thing pulled Clary out of her thoughts and back into the reality of her barn and the sound of rain but there wasn't anything about it all that scared her. Not now. Not the darkness, or the rain, or the thunder. Because now she had someone else to protect, she had to be brave. She didn't have a choice if she wanted one. It was liberating an beautiful and it was all thanks to this small darling kitten that lay sleeping by her chest.

Name: Kennedy
Sex: Cow
The first time she saw a cat: Kennedy was always an outsider among her herd as she always did oddball things and think up weird plans to do for the day. Many times she heard "Why can't you be a normal cow like everyone else?" She had felt very much so proud of herself when she was a calf for being so different from the rest of the herd, which was mainly due to her mother's whispers in her ear about how special and unique she was and to never let anyone try to change her. Ken has always tried to follow by her mother's words, especially after she had fallen ill and passed away, which was extremely difficult for the young cow, at least until the day she wandered into the barn. Kennedy had slowly began to feel more and more lonely as she no longer had anyone there to push her to be herself and to not change just so she could fit in, and one day she had been picked on and teased by the other cows and bulls her age that she couldn't stand there and make a joke of it like normal. No, today she just had enough and ran away from the cows and bulls teasing her. She didn't pay any attention to where she was running, at least not until she had realized that she ran into the barn. Many were afraid to wander in the barn, for no real good explanation. However, today Kennedy had forgotten the horror stories told about what laid inside the barn walls and let her lonilness and hurt consume her, causing her to collapse onto the hay covered floor and sob. She allowed the sadness to consume her, which she had kept pent up and hidden for many moons. At least, that is until she heard a faint rustling coming from a pile of hay in the corner of the barn. Suddenly, Kennedy's loneliness was replaced with fear as the stories told of monsters with glowing eyes replayed within her mind. She would have ran, but she was frozen in place as suddenly she saw a pair of glowing green eyes peer at her from the hay pile. Kennedy was no better than a deer caught in headlights as she starred at the glowing eyes, which came closer in her direction, when out of the shadows stepped out a beautiful white, ginger, and gray calico cat with gorgeous olive green eyes was revieled. Kennedy watched as the cat tilted her head and mewed at her before scurrying closer to Kennedy, mewing once more before rubbing against Kennedy, purring as she did so. Although the situation confused Kennedy greatly, she had to admit it felt nice to be shown some kindness, even if it was from a small cat. From that first meeting the cat, that Kennedy had began to call Jasmine, would often pad into the pasture and bask in the sun on Kennedy's back, and every now and then Kennedy would go into the barn to visit Jasmine. Ken and Jasmine had become inseperable best friends, which helped Kennedy to regain her confidence in herself.

The first time she saw a cat: The first time Addy met a cat, it was when she first joined the Gladiola Herd. After being found by Otter, she was told she had to ask the herd leader for permission to join the herd, so she gladly went to speak with her, eager to join a herd and end her life of being alone. As she was speaking to the herd leader, Iratze, who accepted her nearly instantly, she noticed some splotches on the other cow's back that seemed a little out of place. As she watched, the splotches moved, and she realized that the splotches were actually a cat - Iratze's devoted companion, Eloise. She was shocked, because she had never seen a feline before, and at first she thought she had to protect the herd leader from some sort of parasite. Not that she was very eager to fight - she's pretty low-profile and skittish. However, she wanted to make a good impression, so she was prepared to protect her new herd leader if need be. Once it was explained to her that the cat was a friend, she was still cautious. To this day, she avoids Eloise, and has never interacted with another cat again. She saw a feral cat with kittens once, and the whole herd had a laugh at how quick she ran away. She tries to respect Iratze, or at least be nice to her face, but she much prefers Gazania's companion (a fluffy, non-threatening chicken that doesn't have claws or fangs like the evil cat).

The first time she saw a cat: (250 word minimum)
Sweet was grazing peacefully when something moved through her field of vision. She lifted her head. It was a cat, but Sweet had never seen one before. She watched the cat curiously. It strolled through the pasture without a care in the world. She approached it cautiously, and the cat turned to stare at her. Sweet mooed loudly. The cat flattened its ears and hissed at her. Sweet stumbled back, startled. The cat turned and continued to move through the pasture. Sweet followed a few feet behind it, still curious about what this creature was. It had stripes like her. Sweet mooed again, making the cat jump. It twisted in midair and turned around to face her. It hissed again, standing on its back paws, and lashed out, hitting her nose. Sweet jerked her head back, annoyed. She flattened her ears as well and let out the loudest moo yet before charging the cat. Sweet was usually true to her name. She was sweet. But she was easily annoyed. When she mooed, the cat turned and ran away. Sweet chased the cat around the pasture, getting the attention of other Buttermilks. After about ten seconds of chasing the cat, she let it get away. The cat continued to run, dashing under the fence before turning to look back. It quickly climbed a tree, settling on a branch a few feet above the ground. Sweet continued to stare at it before turning away. Sweet watched from the ground. All she wanted was to learn about cats. She learned one thing: she didn't like cats.

The first time she saw a cat:

Strange...
Puffed little creature.
Spitting, hissing clawing.
A terror.
Hanging on the branch of an apple tree.
Ginger and white, with electric green eyes.
A huffed moo.
Agitation.
Nuisance.
Hissing, spitting, clawing.
Breath fogging air. White teeth, pale claws.
Stomping hooves, scent of fear...
From the ball of ginger fur.
Pity.
Small, tiny, furry, scrawny creature.
Shivering. Alone.
Understanding, sympathy.
No mother.
A softer moo.
Hissing, spitting.
Slow blink of faded, forget-me-not eyes. A soft hearted sigh.
Patience, patience.
Jingle of the bell as she settles at the roots.
Snowflakes drift and sway in Father Winter's breeze.
Noon turns to dusk.
Sun turns to faint stars as clouds drift away.
Long shadows cast across the snow field.
Little ginger creature slowly scrabbles down the bark.
Fluffed and afraid.
And scrambles right back up as the cow shivers with cold.
Another huffed sigh.
Defeat.
Cold.
Light from the barn on the hill.
Warmth.
A slow rise, shaking snow from her back.
Moonlight casting diamonds across the field.
Step. Crunch. Step. Crunch. Step. Crunch.
A half-hearted glance behind.
Little tiny creature, fluffed and afraid.
Step. Crunch. Step. Crunch. Step. Crunch.
A pause, head tilting to listen.
Only the wind sung a haunting tune, whistling and rattling through thin branches.
"Meow."
A quick glance behind.
Little ginger fluffball standing in a hoofprint.
Afraid, ready to run.
Step. Crunch. Step. Crunch. Step. Crunch. Pause.
Tiny, telltale sound of tiny paws.
Step. Crunch. Step. Crunch. Step. Crunch.
All the way to the barn.
Warm, warm, warm.
Settles into the hay. Soft and warm.
Still.
Little ginger puff peeks around the door.
Faded, forget-me-not eyes shut quickly.
Patience.
Sleepy.
Soft warmth settles against her side.
Little ginger fluff.
Doll smiles. As much as a cow can.
Little Gingersnap.

Sex: Cow

The first time she saw a cat:

As the milky dawn light came through the holes in the stiff wooden walls of the barn a small calf stretched her mouth wide in a yawn. She then heard a unfamiliar noise from above. She looked up in response to the noise , and saw a small white and brown furry thing in above her. She moo a reply , and the animal walked up to her making a strange noise , making her nervous. Her mother then walked up to her and mooed " Chestly be friendly , the small thing is just a dear kitten.". As her mother demanded she gave the kitten a sniff , and it continued to make the strange noise. " It likes you , it's purring!" Another cow in the barn said. Her muscles then relaxed , and Chestly felt the little kittens soft fur against her face. She lay down in the soft plush straw , the kitten curled next to he and dozed into sleep. Chestly saw her mother soft gaze , and lay next to her and the kitten. Chestly rested her head down and began to doze into sleep. As Chestly woke again the sun still filtered in through the cracks, but more bright and vivid. She then saw a beautiful white furred cat , her gaze looked worried and sad. The cat then turned to Chestly and her gaze flooded with relief for her kitten. The cat meowed at Chestly , and picked the kitten up lightly , and carried it away. Chestly's mother then looked at her , and said "Cats aren't so bad are they?". Chestly replied in a soft moo " yeah there not too bad!". Her mother gave an aproving nod to another cow. (275 words)
