Why; she almost was killed by a nile croc when she was a pup. She drank poison, but luckily for her the healer got to her in the nick of time. Tina hates sharp object because she was stabbed by her soon to be husband. Sadly, it killed her and now due to a unknown enchantment she is alive again.

What Scares Her: being helpless


Why:
Raised in a savanna neighborhood, Kita grew up playing with lion, cheetah, and leopard cubs. She was encouraged to be brave and fierce, like a wild dog should be, and she loved the rush of defying her fears. Her parents, well-aware of their daughter's boldness, took her to a huge theme park for her 10th birthday (one similar to Disneyland). In awe of all to do, she set out to ride every ride in the park. The roller-coasters, the towering drops, the spinning rides... Caught up in the joy, she was separated from her parents.

This wasn't a first for Kita; she'd always been adventurous. But while wandering in search of someone to ask for help, she came across the birthday party of a young giraffe. The family was kind, but as they looked down at her, she felt more and more nervous. These strangers, however kind, looked at her as if she were a fish in a tank. She grew increasingly more upset as the giraffe family peered down at her, their necks bending at -- as far as she knew -- impossible angles. These animals were not ones that she knew, and she was way out of her comfort zone. And that was saying something.

She waited, though, with them. They called park security over to help her, and she was eventually reunited with her overjoyed parents. But all the while, people checked in on her with bending necks, and it made her feel small. She hated feeling small.

Even though this was years ago, Kita still feels nervous around giraffes. She is polite in their company, and never holds their species against them, but she can't shake the feeling of being helpless and like all is out of her control. This is part of why she's as daring as she is; she knows she's in control of herself, her fears, and her life.

Career: monster hunter
As a monster hunter, it is Kita's job to keep hostile entities and unnatural creatures away. With all the diverse population in Furtopia, deciphering monster from possessed citizen can be hard sometimes. She's only failed to recognize the difference once, when she tried to exorcise a creature that WAS actually a monster, resulting in the need for the eyepatch you see her wearing now. It's rumored that she can see true intent with her mutilated eye, but she's never confirmed (or denied) that. Kita knows that possessed citizens are not responsible for their actions and is kind to them when they're freed. She's courageous in the face of danger -a necessary trait in her line of work- and encourages others to be brave as well.

what is she afraid of?|| Katesch is afraid of the one person who she knows she'll have to face every day. She's afraid of herself. She's afraid of what she'll become, what'll become of her. She doesn't want to be a bad person. Not at all. Nobody does. But she can't help but trap herself in this web of lies every day. She's afraid to stop, because if she stops lying that means there are no defenses left. But if she continues to lie, she'll end up even worse off than she already is. She's a rock in a hard place, and she dug herself this grave.
