Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.

Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

Starfruit blinked a few times, gently wiping drool out of her muzzle's fur. "Starfruit, you blanked out again. What's with you?" One of Starfruit's good friends asked. "Hey, I can't help it." Starfruit shrugged and stuck out her tongue as a taunt. "It just... happens." She added as her friend rolled their eyes in disbelief.
"Yeah right." They hissed, baring their teeth. "Woah, no need to get your fur in a twist." Starfruit tapped her friend on the nose with a single claw, muttering 'boop!' under their breath. "Hey!" Her friend shrieked, swatting Starfruit's paw away. Starfruit stood still, her eyes wide, and expression blank. "Dang it Starfruit! Not again!" They waved a paw in front of Starfruit's muzzle, but to no avail. "Just kidding!" Starfruit giggled. "It's not funny, Starfruit!"
"Hehe. Okay, okay. I won't do it again."
"Promise?"

Bad habit: This little Kalon has a habit with twitching her nose. It's a strange habit, but she just feels like she needs to do it every now and then. And... she does it really often. People think she's weird because she does it so much.

"Leila, no one is going to judge you for being childish. I'm about as old as you and more childish than you'll ever think."
"But what about my family at home? They look up to me as a role model, not some childish baby who likes to hang out instead of reading books or something."
"That's not true! I mean, they do probably look up to you as a role model, but they won't find anything wrong with you being a little childish at heart. Everyone has that little child inside of them."

bad habit: harley likes to stay up extremely late, which makes them extremely tired, which makes them extremely cranky. they're not addicted to the internet or anything, they just have trouble sleeping. after not being able to sleep, they like to sit at the kitchen table and/or pace around for a while, and then go back to trying to sleep, but nothing can every really work for them. harley has tried every trick in the book to help themself sleep, but they still end up cranky and with bags under their eyes every single morning. Elena nodded, her eyes drifting across the room. There were so many things in her brother's room, didn't he get so distracted all the time?
"Alright, now which country on the map is Italy? What's the capital of Italy? How far is capital of Italy from London?"
Elena flinched. "Woah, woah woah! One at a time! I know that Italy is the boot shaped country, uhh, the capital is...Milan? No, Venice...no it's Rome!"
Her brother sighed and pointed to the map. "Yes, that's correct. Now let's move on to Switzerland."
Elena didn't hear whatever her brother said, she kept her eyes trained above his head right on the spider that was slowly dropping down from its web...which would land any second now on her brother's head."
"Uh," she muttered. "There's a spider on your head."
