What are Novibats?

Novibats are a unique species of bats that can take up residence anywhere their heart desires...

[center]Novibats are bequeathed with special "star-stones" that operate as magical transforming agents. Once they come of age, their star stone changes color (the little diamond in the center) and they undergo a permanent metamorphosis which results in their designation to a specific biome. Once metamorphosed, it is incredibly difficult to leave and often results in death because the Novibat is not suited to other climates. Novibats can then remove their star stones, as it loses most magical properties it held and becomes a memento for the Novibat. However, they usually keep them around their necks as it is something they keep with them all their lives as physical memories of their homeland and the Star-Stones serve as a form of name tag.

living quarters:: most of the time, the space she considers home is often messy and unorganized. she's a bit of a hoarder and keeps almost everything she finds as part of her collection, which is basically a giant junk pile, but she treats each little trinket and thingamabob like golden coins. however, her inability to let things go and her many other odd habits often don't sit well with others. because of this, once in awhile she will try to shed some of her treasures, though never really succeeds in doing so and ends up keeping everything she tries to throw away.

extra:: because of her fluctuating self-esteem, a desire to please, and a need to impress others and gain their approval, she tends to stick to larger groups of Novibats rather than smaller ones. however, larger groups tend to make her feel unwanted or she doesn't feel loved enough and often abandons them in search of a new group. she has been known to jump around from group to group, hoping to find the "perfect" one for her.

Aster is funny, friendly, and weird. He likes to get to know new viscets, and tries to be friends with anyone and everyone. Aster is always going around cracking jokes. He likes to make people smile, add a light to their day. Last of all, the odd. Aster is, well, special, he does the weirdest things. Going up to people, saying random things, then scooting away. He laughs ridiculously loud, silencing a whole room, and just has no shame in anything. I don't think he knows what embarrassment is!

~What's with the lava lamp?~
Aster loves lava lamps. LOVES. Seriously, he has 576 and counting. He collects them, and buys every one he sees.Of course he has about 248 broken ones in boxes, but so what, everyone drops things. He puts his lamps all over his little house, stacking them, gluing them to things. I mean, his house pretty much glows. Whenever a friend come over, they leave with a lamp. He gives them to his friends as a gift, an offering through friendship. He's not sure why he likes them so much, maybe it's because he's afraid of the dark?
