Amygdala

Part of the brain responsible for experiencing emotion

Female

Amygdala is very intelligent, persuasive, and emotional. Formerly, she was an enchantress, but in recent years, she dropped the old profession for one that would use her talents to help others. As expected, she's also rather level-headed and calm, always there to listen to others with emotional troubles. Speaking of which, emotion is probably her all-time favorite thing to work with, as she finds it a very interesting subject. Thanks to her profession, she is now labelled as a very helpful Kokoro, with a relatively kind heart and somewhat motherly attitude towards her patients. However, when offered help with her profession, she will always deny it, as she is a bit stubborn and very independent, believing that if she has help, everything she's worked so hard on will fall apart. Amygdala is also a very hard thinker, so if you have a problem, she'll try her hardest to solve it, for a relatively small price. It's said that she was born in a grove of cherry blossom trees, though she refuses to confirm this speculation. Due to her being an enchantress at one time, she has quite the knowledge of herbs, potions, and many spiritual-related items. Often times, she will become irritated if she can't solve a problem, so she can often be seen meditating to calm down and boost her mood. There are rumors about her being a witch, much to her displeasure, though many take no heed to them as Amygdala is generally one of the most emotionally helpful Kokoros in the area she lives.

Intelligent - Persuasive - Helpful - Emotional - Level-Headed - Stubborn - Independent - Tolerant

Amygdala's is, as you may have guessed, very interested in psychology, so she became a psychiatrist. She adores psychiatric sciences and helping others with emotional problems, so she combined the two, and her profession was the result. Amygdala is considered very good at her job, and is known across a large distance of land for it.

"Why were you an enchantress?""Starting out with some risky questions, eh? I'm kidding, don't make that face. Well, to be honest, I thought using spiritual items to enchant people was the only way to solve not only my problems, but their problems as well. After I discovered psychology, however, that changed."
"What's with all the feather-y stuff?""Feather-y stuff? Really? I guess you could say they're left overs from when I was an enchantress. I decided to keep them to remind me of who I used to be, and I just really like feathers. I still do have a dream catcher in my room, though. Call me superstitious, but I think it actually works."
"Hobbies?""Let's see here.... I like to write, poetry being my favorite type of writing, and what else is there... Oh! Yes! I love bird watching! Birds are absolutely amazing! All the different colors... Ah, so beautiful.."
"Any pets?""Technically no, but there's a pretty little hummingbird that comes by everyday that I can get to perch on next to me. I have him named Rubinous, and I hope that one day I can call him my pet."
"How's the psychiatrist business going?""Oh, I'm glad you asked! All is going pretty well as of late. I have a new patient to diagnose tomorrow, and I can't wait to see if I can help them."
"Why do you fear the ocean?""Oh dear. Well, it's kind of a dumb reason, but, I don't like salt, which the ocean is full of. Otherwise I'm fine with just water in general."
"Sexuality?""Oh, that would be demipansexual. Though I question why you asked..."
Favorite food?""Angel Food Cake with cherry sauce. It's absolutely delicious!"
"Favorite color?""I love magenta, or anything the purple spectrum. Such a lovely color."
"Favorite season?""Spring. Summer is too hot, Winter is to cold, and Autumn is too windy. Spring is simply perfect, and it's also when my cherry trees blossom!"
"What's with you and herbal medicine?""Oh, just more remnants of my old self, I suppose. I just like that it's natural and not some gross artificial junk."
"Are you artistic?" "Hmm, I would say yes and no. If I can draw anything, it would have to be abstract art. I can't really draw anything else, to be honest."
"Where did you come from?""I was waiting for this question. Well, I can confirm that yes, I was born in a grove of cherry trees, which was located somewhere in Japan. It was so long ago I hardly remember the exact place...."
"Could you tell us some background?""Oh, fine. A few years after I was born, I moved here via a trade ship. However, I'll admit that I was a stowaway. Hey, don't give me that look! I had a poor family! Anyway, when I arrived here, I knew I'd have to hide, so I did so in an abandoned building near a hair salon. From this place, I would hear others complaining about their troubles and lives, which led to me becoming an enchantress. One by one, I used magic catchers - a magic-catching variant of a dream catcher - to hypnotize their problems away. However, I read a headline on an old newspaper once that said people were forgetting who they were all around town. Knowing it was me, I felt terrible about what I was doing, and decided to take a different approach on changing people's lives for the better. After scouring through books and scrolls in some library, I came across psychology, and I knew that it was what I was going to do to help people. I studied for years and years before opening up my own clinic, which has brought me quite a lot of money and people to help. After about a year of running my business, I was able to buy the house I now happily live in. I hope that was good enough for you. I can't really get anymore detailed."
"What's your zodiac?""Well, I was born on June 26, so I believe it would be Cancer. Seeing as how emotion is one of a Cancer's traits, it makes sense, too."
"What's your birthstone?""You mean birthstones? June has three, which would be pearl, moonstone, and alexandrite. Pearl is the most well-known, though, so I can see why you would make such a mistake."
"Any odd quirks you have?""Oh, I guess I have a few. I have an obsession with feathers, and anything that has to do with feathers, but you may have assumed that from what I've been talking about. Heh, heh. Hmmm, oh! I also I have a rock collection. I can't not pick up a weird rock when I see it."
"Do you have any friends?""Of course I do! Though one I should mention is Kensaku. Not only is he a friend, but he's also one of my patients, and a troubled one at that. He's VERY uncooperative if he switches personalities in the middle of a therapy session. One day I will be able to help him, though. I can promise you that."
Kensaku is owned by .
aze:., and I have been given permission to mention him"Any special things you have?""Well I have a Koi Pond, which you should know is a pretty pond full of koi, a Zen Garden, which calms me down when I'm stressed, and a Butterfly Tower. Before you ask what that is, I'll tell you. It's a tower full of little homes, flowers, and nectars for butterflies. It attracts a lot, and I love to watch them flutter around it. I don't think I'm ever bored, thanks to it."
"Favorite musician?""Lindsey Stirling! She's an absolutely AMAZING violinist! Oh, dear me, I believe that's all the questions I can answer right now! I have a patient coming in soon! Tah-Tah!"
