Thalassophobia-
Fear of the ocean.
She has a sever fear of waves and any ocean like thing, she gets panic attacks when she just sees a drawing of the ocean or just went its on TV. The thing is she wishes she wasn't afraid of it because every time she hears someone talk about how beautiful the ocean is and how it's so much fun to play in with friends. Xara just feels left out but when she thinks of the large rolling waves and how you could possibly be pulled out to sea and drown, it just makes her shake in utter terror.

I stood quietly on the beach as my friends played in the water, my feathers blew quietly in cold wind that came from off shore. I didn't really fear the ocean but I still was cautious back then, but that day I took a deep breath and I walked out across the hot sand. I got into the water, after a few minutes I felt a strong pull of a wave and I saw the tower of water I froze. It came crashing down on me, my mouth filled with water and I felt myself tumble under the wave. My body scrapping the ground hard as I rolled with the water, I dug my claws into the bottom that I could reach and I pushed myself up to the surface. What felt like forever was only a few moments of terror, my eyes were wide as I swam, back to shore coughing and wheezing, I drug myself ashore and sat on the beach hearing my friends calling to me in panicked voices. I looked toward where they were coming from the water all looking freaked out but all I saw was the waves and I started to shake and I got up and ran, feeling the embedded fear in my mind that would haunt me forever.
