Day 1
Today was the day that a pick up my mustang. Unfortunatly there was a storm so we had to ask them to hold a horse for us. The trailer was ready, the horses stall was ready, everything was ready for this mystery horse. I just kept pacing around waiting for the dumb storm to pass.
Day 2
Finally we left to go pick up this mustang. When I saw it he was beautiful. A lovely dappled rose gray, he was prancing around his paddock right then and there I knew his name was Konorita which means One Who Rides On Clouds. The person that showed us Konorita said that he had very very sensitive hooves and that's why no one wanted him, but that wasn't going to get in my way
Day 3-7
The rest of this week we let Konorita settle into his new home. Konorita seems to adapt fast and I was even able to let him out with a few of my calmer geldings. With letting him out in the pasture I got Konorita to trust me more. He let me groom him for a few minutes and he has started taking treats from my hand.

Day 8-11
Konorita let me touch his hooves and pick them up. I was even able to get the farrier and the farrier said that his feet aren't bad, but they are soft and that I should give him some hoof supplements. I have started him on the supplements and he seems a lot less sore and Kono also seems happier.

Day 12-23
So these past few days I have been able to teach Konorita to trust me. I did this by having him bow and sit down on a bean bag chair. He did take a few steps back though. Konorita started acting a little skittish I think I may have been pushing him to much, I may give him little break to let him settle down.

Day 24-28
I noticed that lately Konorita is limping slightly like the first weeks I had him. I called the farrier who came over quickly. The farrier said that Konorita is going to need shoes. The shoes he put on are called Morrison Roller Motion Shoes. Kono seems to be a lot more sound he is limping around a little , but the farrier said that is to be expected because for one thing is feet will be sore since they aren't used to the shoes and because he has to get used to them. I have started grooming Kono again since he had the break he seems a lot happier and occasionally I see him and the other geldings racing around the pasture. Over the past few days I have gotten a small mare who I tried putting out with Kono's pasture mates and they seem fine together.

Hi sorry I have been away for a while.
Days 29-40
Konorita has made incredible progress I have taught him to lie down, how to stand on a box. Over these past weeks I have started free lunging him over small cross rails. He seems to enjoy jumping. I tried getting him used to tack , but Kono refused to let me even get the blanket near him. So we decided to wait a few more weeks.I kept him working on tricks and jumping.

Day 41-57
These past couple of weeks I have been able to put tack on Kono and get him used it. I have only been free lunging him with the tack and I only put weight in the irons to get him used to what it would feel like when I am mounting him. I have continued with the tricks and jumping and he seems to be enjoying him self. I soon hope to mount him.

Days 58-67
I have been able to mount Konorita over these past few weeks. I am continuing teaching him tricks, and jumping while riding him. We have started trotting a few steps and he seems to be getting used to it. I don't plan to start cantering any time too soon because I think this close to competion we can't afford to go to far back in our training.
