"There is a legend, told by the elders, of the Elkrin long ago who were born of the constellations in the night sky. Their will to be alive was so strong that one day they simply jumped from the stars and down towards the earth below, their pelts glistening with the starlight they were born from as they shimmered and twinkled in and out of existence. Their eyes are that of dying suns and their calls are sweetly eerie sounds that drift across the universe of time and space...or so the legend is told. These Elkrin are nothing if not mysterious and the Star Eater is one such mysterious creature. This tale was told to me by my older sister as we gazed up at the stars one night as young children, and has forever stayed with me even to this day."

"The Star Eater does what its name implies but not in the means of stealing and eating the beautiful stars that shine above us. No, whenever a falling star shoots across the night sky a Star Eater is always there to catch it before it blinks out of existence. Thus, the once dying star now becomes apart of it's galaxy filled pelt to forever burn in the Elkrin's soul. A Star Eater with a pelt filled with stars tells it's old age, while one with just a few and more color to it's bare pelt is said to have just been born from a constellation. Truly majestic creatures in their own right and only a few are born to our world. The Star Eater is a wondrous sight to behold, but most importantly it made a little sister's dream come true." ~Thorn

No, I'm not one to simply, get along with others. No, I'm not distinctly good hearted. In fact, in the race to save Eldmore I started off by picking the wrong side. I only looked out for myself after my dad passed away during a night raid, and my mom would't (not couldn't) defend herself, so I was alone. Every important aspect of my life seems to happen at night, and finding Bronwyn and Ahtahka was no different. Bronwyn was my first real ally, or friend as it were. With her around, I was able to sort out some things that I had been going thorugh, but we were still ultimately struggling to survive every night while we were on the run. Most of the time, it was just blind luck that saved us from our worst scrapes, until Ahtahka came along! once again, it was by sheer dumb luck that we crossed paths with him, but it's a good thing that we did or Bronwyn and I would probably both be dead by now! Once, we even escaped a fight from a rogue pack of starving Dire Wolves. Bronwyn and Ahtahka both despise the desert with a passion, but we had to take the trail tpo get to the next village over... so we had no choice but to travel through it! We knew that heat was going to be our most challenging foe, but we never expected to encounter an even more deadly ennemy, the Dire Wolves! Without Ahatahka, we would have persished either from the sun's burning heat or we would have been torn apart by the ravenous wolves! Ever since that terrifying day Ahtahka has been even more loyal to us, and Bronwyn and I both will forever be indepted to him, as long as their are Elkrin in Eldemore.

I've lived most of my life alone... but no longer.
I now live with two of the most interesting creatures I have ever met, and I don't want to leave them anytime soon. We have gone on many adventures already, and have traveled to more bizarre places than I had ever ventured before! That's saying something as well, because I have been to many lands. I am like the stars themselves, who are always shifting across the sky and as reliable as the sun that rises and falls in the sky. As long as there are stars, I will be loyal to my newfound family because I don't want to be alone - like I used to be. Before there were days that even for me, the stars didn't shine. I couldn't find my way without them and was lost for a long time, purposeless. It was a bright day when they found me, huddled on the ground. My pelt had dulled and I didn't shine like I used to. It was only with their love that I have risen again.

Now,
even gravity no longer holds sway to me. I finally feel....

I'm still a young rune,
but as I grow with my strange flock,
I'm becoming closer and closer to Ahtahka and Kree
with each passing day. I'm normally pretty shy,
but Atahka's strength
brings me strength when things get rough.
Living on the road was really hard before Atahka came into our lives.
The days were particularly difficult for me, because even though Kree
let me sleep in her satchel most days, there were still days when
the sun was too bright that
I just couldn't function at all.
Nowadays I often sleep in Atahka's fluffy mane... it makes the best nest!

"Noxuos is a very brave and strong-willed Elkrin. He will not back down easily and will use his size to intimidate opponents. He isn't very trusting of humans but will not run from them. He knows when to make peace with another and when not to. However, he has a harder time trusting other Stags that trusting Does.

She is very calm and composed. She is unnaturally smart for her age, so she becomes easily annoyed with people that are her actual age. Most if her friends are her co-workers or her old collage classmates (she started collage early so her classmates were older than her), her co-workers are in their mid-twenties to their late forties but they still treat her like an adult. She has a strong will to survive and will try to befriend ferocious beasts in dire situations.

"I was alone this time, I was searching for my grandmother's old cottage. She had died a week before and I was the only one willing to seek out the one thing that inspired her to live when she was dying. She had left her previous journal in my care and I read several entries each day. It began with when she was a young woman searching for the adventure of her life. She wrote about a star studded breed of Elkrin that captured her curiosity and her heart. I filled the instructions she left in the journal to get to the cottage, however, I could feel something watching me from the very beginning."



"I could hear him in the night, always near. He was following me. I would gain speed each waking hour, but he grew ever faster as well. I eventually came upon my late grandmother's cottage, and the Elkrin seemed to have left. I searched every inch of the cottage and found an old, ripped out page from my grandmother's journal. It was burnt on the edges, though I did not recall the mention of a fire in the journal."

"The page said that my grandmother had fled in fear. She abandoned her cottage, her memories, to save her own life. She had written that she vowed never to return, for the land was the home of the Star Eater Elkrins. She had nearly been killed by an old stag for she was on his territory. She ran far away the next morning."

"I was horrified. I could not fathom such a wondrous beast doing harm to another being. I left the cottage with my head down, but when I looked up, I was staring into the eyes of a young adult Star Eater Elkrin stag. I fell to the ground, I was terribly afraid. However, he simply lowered her head and nudged my hand. I was shaking, and he could sense my fear."

The girl, I chose her. She was my Rider, though she feared me. I rested beside her as she calmed down, my elders had sung to me the tales of a human woman who had fled our land. I knew this was that woman's descendant, and I knew she had a unique spirit. We bonded, and our hearts began to work as one.
