Story:
On a dark, stormy moonless night a lone mare could be seen walking, her belly round and heavy with a foal. She knew the foals time was near, she just hoped that it wouldn’t be this night. But she looked for shelter just incase. There were several things on her mind. One of the most terrifying was that while many mothers had talked about their foals kicking, she felt nothing. Not even a soft tap. A Loud Clap of thunder and a flash of lighting startled her, as well as the sudden pain in her belly. Having not yet found shelter, she headed over to a thick, pine and laid down.

Two Hours had passed and the storm still raged, but the mare was no longer worried about the storm, she was worried about her foal. While the filly was breathing, its eyes stayed closed and it laid on the ground. The foal appeared Black and it was only until a bright lightning flash could she see the white light up and the ray of the filly’s coat. She nudged the foal softly. “Wake up my little Filly, wake up.” She whispered as she laid down. She shifted position and brought her tail around the foal to try and keep her warm as the night was growing colder. Soon the mare fell into a light sleep. She never knew what happened while her eyes was closed, but she felt the foal jerk and she opened her eyes to se the foal starting to try and stand, her blue eyes wide in surprise as it started to sneeze as if it had something up her nose. The Mare Stood and let the small foal lean on her as the filly watched the lightning strike, her tail twitching with each flash and each crack of thunder. “Amaya. I shall call You Amaya for it means Night Rain. You are my little night rain.” She whispered, nuzzling the foal.

One Year later.
“Ma! MA!” Amaya whinnied loudly, waking the Gray mare from her sleep. “Yes Dear?” “Can We go to The lake? I want to play in water again!” The filly asked, her body shook from pure excitement. The Mare looked at the sky. There was a storm rolling in, fast. “No Amaya. We have to find shelter tonight.” She said, looking around before she stood and trotted down the small hill. “Aww…” Amaya sighed as she followed her mother. A Flash of brown caught her eye she stopped and looked over at the brown thing. It was a Rabbit. She pricked her ears and walked towards the creature. She squealed in delight as it hopped away and she chased after it “Amaya!” he mother whinnied, but Amaya ignored her. The Chase went on for a few moments before the rabbit raced down a Hole as the sky turned dark. A Loud cracking boom sent Amaya running. “Mommy!” She wailed as rain started to fall and lightning flashed. Suddenly the tree she was running to lit fire. As the Branches caught fire and fell, the dry grass caught fire. She Started to Run, but she heard a Terrified whinny. “MA!” Amaya screamed, seeing the Mare on the other side of the Flames with no clear way back to her foal. “Amaya run! Don’t Look Back ok? I’ll Be Fine, Just go!” Amaya hesitated before she turned and bolted in fear. She only stopped when she reached the mud field around the lake. She shivered and stood by the water, awaiting he mothers return. The Rain had finally stopped when the tired knew that her mother wasn’t coming back. She looked at the mountains, she knew it was very dangerous for a foal to be wandering alone, but she couldn’t bear the thought of staying in the same place her mother had died. She took a Deep Breath. “I Can Do this. Nothing will hurt me.” She said allowed to her self and she started to walk. She cast a glance towards were smoke spiraled into the air from what was left of the fires before she looked ahead of her. She never looked back and She never has.
