About Them: (130 words) Kuro loves collecting gems and jewels etc. that he finds throughout the desert, basically anything that shines and sparkles. He often brings along his trusty kangaroo rat friend, Ayana. They met when Kuro stumbled across a small hole and saw something glistening inside so he decided to reach in and try to grab it, thinking it was a jewel. Ayana was sleeping in there at the time, next to a gold coin and she got very frightened when she thought she was about to be eaten. Turns out Ayana and Kuro both have an interest in shiny things, so they both decided to stick with each other and soon became best friends due to there not being many other forms of life to befriend in the desert.

About Them:
a calm summer memory
waves calmly crashed upon shore and made andy very tired, they calmed him down.
he was somber, sleepy and quite ignorant, but he never liked to call himself rude.
people seemed to be calling andy, but he was too lost in thought and focusing on the
calm ocean sounds. andy seemed to be thinking about nothing, yet everything, browsing
through his thoughts yet never taking a moment to branch further on a certain image or
memory; he had a visual mind and that helped him sleep because he never really said
anything in his mind, frankly it was about as quiet as he was, almost mute.
andy glanced sideways at his sleeping pills and saw all the others blurred out in the distance,
they were all playing games, but andy wasn't interested. was it weird, for a kit like him, to
not be interested in their games? surely he wasn't the only one.
andy thought about how he couldn't sleep at home, but he could sleep here. nothing ever
helped his sleep except being at the beach, and his family lived just across the road from
the beach, was it too much to ask for him to sleep there?
of course it was. everything was.
and all of the sudden, everything seemed so blurred, so dark; finally, andy slept.

This poem is meant to be a “memory” of sort from when Ciqala was a kit. As you can probably tell, his mother passed away saving him from hyenas while hiding him beneath the earth (I used a lot more fennec behavior/facts than kalon.) This tragic event has left Ciqala feeling far too small and afraid than he should. His demeanor is more than often serious (though he occasionally shows humor), and even though he has a fear of letting anyone else in, his wise and caring nature earns him comrades wherever he wanders. At first, this bothered him, for he was certain his friends would leave him like his mother did, but he’s slowly learning the power and value of love, and despite his small size, he’s quick to protect his friends and loved ones with everything he’s got.

About Them: Saharah likes the night life. She loves to explore crowded streets; she strolls under the neon signs of shops, hungry for late night guests, whom taunt her with their bright hues. Saharah feels at home when she's walking along the bustling street, absorbing the high energy that accumulates from worry-free adults and the partying youth. But, most of all, Saharah loves flair bartending. She's taken on the spicy task through a coworker, who loves to impress the patrons he watches over. Saharah then decided she, too, would become a natural at flair bartending, and sought out late-night lessons with the Kalon. It took over a few months of late shifts, consisting of bright, fluorescent lights and giggling patrons, but she did it—she learned how to work the syrup and shakers! (Did you think Saharah worked at a bar? Nope! She works at the ice cream parlor and bakery, where they serve numerous sweets and delicious drinks!)
Saharah took over with glee, swaying her jubilant form under the whimsical lights of the parlor as she puts on a show, creating drinks while she's at it. Saharah has noticed an increase in tips and patrons thanks to her extra work, but she always feels indebted to her master, Michaél. The Kalon taught her something she never knew, especially in a million years, she's be good at.
Outside of making milkshakes and virgin piña coladas at 5pm on a Friday, Saharah likes to help out at local events. She finds it more fun to make drinks for families of all ages, especially milkshakes! When she shimmies with a can of whipped cream in one hand and a milkshake in the other, spraying the foamy cream on the shake as a child's eyes light up...It simply makes her day! What's even more, she'll volunteer at these events, usually taking the day off to fully help out with drinks. Saharah wishes she had a little sibling to fawn over, but she's fine with settling on her coworkers. After all, she's always been a mother hen at heart.

XXXEli is, in a sense, "a hipster". He's the cool twenty-something dude that works in the tech department of a large company, usually seen with a beanie and Starbucks coffee (roasted French vanilla). Don't consider him a try hard or fake though, because in all honesty, he loves being like this; completely himself. He'll always smile as he passes you in the hall, and is happy to assist any Kalon who has trouble with tech- from the latest iPaws to the oldest PCs. Since his job requires him to use a computer most of the time, he's developed some pretty bad eyesight and has to wear glasses or the occasional contacts. When Eli's not at work, you'll generally find at his favorite bookstore, or at his apartment, reading a book from it (with his reading glasses on, of course). [138 words]

About Them: Winny sat, not making a sound, just staring at the heavens above.
It was a cool night, and it was bound to get colder, with autumn well on its way. Mountains
lined the horizon, haze covering their details. The sky was simply breathtaking, hues of blue
and black were painted across the vastness of heavens. The stars danced with their brethren
and the moon cast her silvery ribbons across everything they could reach. The wind blew through
every crack and crevice, bringing its fall chill to settle betheath the forest canopy. Winston knew
that this place, this would be home for him one day. It would make a perfect place for a family.
One day he'd build a cottage here, make a living off of making lumber. He'd raise beautiful children.
No matter what it takes, he is going to centre his life around this dream.

Once again Winston sat quietly, this time with a smile. He remembered that day, sitting on the
forest floor, dreaming of things he would work to have. That moment truly changed him so much, he
actually had a goal set, something to work towards, and that was something he truly needed. With
his mind geared toward greater days, he had worked for many years. Now, here he is, sitting on his
porch, in a cabin, on that same hill. He hasn't quite gotten the family thing achieved, but he's getting
there. Winny can actually say, yeah he made it, yeah he followed his dreams. That's why that memory
is so important to him. He hopes to remember it for the rest of his life. It was really a game changer
that day, all motivation and no doubt. That memory and that moment will always be something Winny
cherishes, and will tell his kids about one day.

The fennec was walking around in the rainy night, eyes glued to the ground when he bumped into someone.
"Oh! er, sorry..." he said, smiling lightly.
"It's fine," the stranger replied, eyes shifting around, a nervous expression painted on their face.
"Hey, is everything alright?... you seem nervous." Felix too got nervous as he shuffled his paws. Did he do something wrong?
"I-" They sighed, looking down. "It's just.. i'm not really used to people saying anything to me.."
The male almost gasped. "Why not? i bet your a cool person to be around!" He said, trying not to make the other more uncomfortable then they already were.
"Thanks, i guess.." At this point, Felix could pretty much feel the other kalon's nervousness radiating off of him. Guilt went through him for a moment before he frowned. The two talked until Felix was going to go.
"Im gonna go now, i guess. Bye?"
Only after taking a few steps away, the other Kalon spoke.
"Wait! I'm sorry if i made you uncomfortable. I don't normally talk. What's your name?"
"[color=#FFBF40]Oh! Well then, my name's Felix, it's nice to meet you. [/color]" He put out his paw,smiling again.
"It's nice to meet you, too, Felix. I'm Jay."
"So we're friends now?" He grinned. excited.
"Yeah..." He paused.
"I'd guess you'd call us that."

about them ;; felix's name means lucky, but truly, he's anything but. his general rule of life is "hope for the best, but prepare for the worst," and it's saved him a lot of trouble. bad luck has dogged his footsteps all his life; sometimes it's small stuff (a coffee mug spilling right across his paperwork, a tree root angled just right to trip him up) and sometimes it's something bigger (a motorcycle colliding with his car, his laptop crashing and losing all his files). for the most part, felix just regards the latest disaster with faintly amused resignation and moves on.

despite this curse, or maybe because of it, felix is very generous with what little good luck he gets. his father used to tell him that "there's always someone less fortunate than you", and felix is determined to help out every one of those people. he volunteers at various hospitals, orphanages, and soup kitchen regularly, and he's always willing to catch someone down on their luck. if you need a shoulder to cry on, he'll always be there for you, and you can count on him for just about anything.

he's always believed in helping out others, and if it costs him a few hours of retyping his documents, then it's a small price to pay to see the smiles on their faces. [222/350]
