As someone looking in from the outside, I think the best thing to do would be to start putting out regular adopts. That will draw more attention to the species. After that, maybe incorporate a points shop where people can write about or draw their Buttermilks to earn points for items and potentially customs?

To be honest, I think too much emphasis is put on events sometimes when simpler things can help a species thrive. I've seen staff burnout from events kill species, so I think it's best to focus on low stress activities.
