reben's favorite plant is by far the california redwood, or simply the giant redwood. growing up to more than 350 feet tall, it is one of the most magnificent organisms to reben. she loves the way they smell, look, and thrive, making even the tallest of jungle trees wither beneath it's height.

growing up, reben was born in the redwood forests in california. everyday, she would weave among the giant beasts, racing her denmates, and having the time of her life. she would enjoy the gentle, quiet, rustling trees that sheltered her and kept her safe. when she was afraid, she could wander into the forest, and enjoy the shade that they offered.

later in life, she grew to be a strong, loyal viscet. she quickly gained the trust of many, and climbed through the ranks of the pack. as her persistance continued, she eventually came out on top to become pack leader. reben was loved in her pack for her love of nature, her bravery, and her reasoning.

one strange morning, she awoke to find the air singeing her fur. the forest fires had reached them. panicking for the fear of her pack, she called for the viscets to evacuate. the forest was slowly burning down to the earth, while smoke polluted the air. holding back tears, reben raced out of the woods with her pack streaming behind her.

the day went by slowly, offering no comfort. many viscets had splinters, cuts, and burns, all because of her beloved trees. struggling to stay calm, reben helped everyone she could and hunted food for the whole pack. but still, helping wasn't enough. she had damaged her place in the pack, and could never regain it.

feeling ashamed and guilty, reben left the pack. she ran back to where she belonged, only this time, the peace and quiet was the snap of twigs and the sizzleing of burning wood.

taking a deep breath, reben settled down into her old nest, the damp moss squishing beneath her, and the fresh ash burning her fur. all her worries were gone, and whatever twinge of guilt or anguish was gone. the forest would flourish once more, even with the absence of her pack. reben didn't care if she had to live alone. she was home, safe, and reunited with her gentle giants.
