I'm... fairly happy with how this turned out?
This kiddo is based off of fish/the phrase "年年有魚"!
The timer is really off though khfksdhfs.

Edits:

Common: Backmane, tail, longer fur, hair (they have pigtails!)

NOTE!

Their tail isn't split; it's just reeeeal fluffy/styled at the tip.
The shine is symmetrical/split down the middle.

Do they have any superstitions they live by? Kairi is quite the clumsy kalon, and he spills his coffee a lot, equaling a lot of supposed good luck on his end...
On national kindness day, Kairi decided that he’d honor the day and do a good deed for everyone. When he entered his favorite coffee shop, he ordered the usual caffè mocha, and sat down at one of the small tables that were scattered around the shop. After finishing his drink, an idea popped into his head.
"What if I helped give people good luck by spilling their coffee for them?" He smiled to himself, quite pleased with the idea.
He approached a young man, sipping on a large iced coffee. "How are you, today?"
He glanced up at Kairi, and gave him a weird look, but responded, "I’m fine, thank you."
Kairi started talking excitedly about superstitions around the world. The man tuned him out and kept sipping his coffee.
"But my favorite superstition is one from Egypt. It states that when someone’s coffee is spilled, it gives them good luck! However, if the coffee cup falls, then that overrides the good luck, and gives them bad. Do you want some good luck today?"
The man mumbled something, clearly not hearing what Kairi said.
The kalon took it for a yes, and knocked over his coffee. The icy, bitter liquid pooled onto the table, and started dripping into the lap of the unsuspecting man. He jumped up in shock.
"What was that for?" He yelled furiously at poor Kairi.
"I-I... just wanted... t-to give you... good luck!" he choked out nervously.
"Is having coffee on my clothes good luck?" the man fumed. "I think not!"
An embarrassed Kairi ran away before he could hear anything else. He resolved to never go to that coffee shop again!

Extra: I took a deep breath, knowing it was to no avail. Calming myself down? Not a chance! The simple act was impossible even on any normal day. Perhaps I shouldn’t have had so much coffee this morning, but at least I was so nervous that I spilled the cup.
Wait, that reminds me. You don’t know what day is! Well, I’ll start by telling you that it is most certainly not a normal day for me. Today will be extraordinary! Remarkable! And most importantly, it will be the day where my life really begins.
After attempting to compose myself, I walked in to the room. One well-dressed kalon sat there expectantly, void of all emotion, as I launched into my spiel about my business.
"Hello, Ms. Lavotte. As you know, I’m here to talk to you today about The Chocolate Connection. We sell customizable chocolate truffles, down to the fillings and chocolates!" I continued to tell her about my successes, and I finished up with, "I’m looking for $250,000 for 20% of my company." I flashed a hopeful smile, and waited for the questions to come in. But there was only one.
"How will you expect your business to expand if you’re doing something so personal? I expect that a lot of your sales come from how personal the experience is for your customers." She didn’t even give me a chance to explain, and kept talking. "I’m sorry, but I can’t invest in your company. I wish you the best of luck, Mr. Iwasaki." I could tell she didn’t really mean it, though.
I thanked her, and turned around to head home. Who cared what she said? I could succeed on my own, and I would. My customers would receive the most personal experience they had ever known!

Do they have any superstitions they live by? May isn't a big believer in superstitions in general, except for one -- the tale of the old fish gutting shack. It's a broken-down hut, wild plants growing up the sides, infested with wild animals and rats. Worst of all, the area surrounding it smells of dead fish and mildew. Now, May isn't one to be scared easily, and she used to have no fear of the fish gutting shack.

Until the incident.

May decided it would be fun to explore the area surrounding the hut with her friend. She didn't want to go inside the hut- just look at it from the outside. As they neared the shack, the wooden door rattled and opened. May gasped, but her friend was fearless.

"I'm going in."

"No! Who knows what's in there?!"

"Pff, you don't believe that tale, do you?"

"No..! I just want you to keep you safe!"

Her friend snorted and entered the shack, closing the door behind her. May ran, too scared to see what would happen. She doesn't know if her friend is still in there, but she does know that she never saw her friend again after that.
