Name: Callula
meaning | beautiful light in Latin
Gender: Female
Callula's Personality:
Callula has "the sky above her, the earth below her, and a fire within her." -unknown | She is very good at keeping people company and often others can get lost in her cute and fun personality that they forget time is passing; no time spent with her is ever wasted. She always aims for joy and little can bring her down. She has a quiet confidence and a gentle soul but she is extremely outgoing and makes friends quickly. She's open minded and loves adventures whether she finds them in a good book or in the wild outdoors. Her wild side is constantly shown in the odd noises she likes to make, much like that of a crazed turkey, and her silly, jumpy side which she shows by climbing trees or bouncing on other peoples' trampolines. Callula loves everyone, no matter their personality; although her loyalty is only strong to the people she truly loves and cares for. She eats a lot of food, loves colors and nature, and most of all adores music. Music sends her to imaginative places no others could possibly think of. She plays the guitar, piano, and her favorite of all, the cello. Callula's voice is sweet and melodic like an angelic choir. Her passions are strong and her curiosity stronger. No matter the challenge she makes it through with a brighter smile than before.
Short Story:
This Viscet's story will be based on a world much like the one you and me live in, because this world has a thousand untold stories of joy and love and I don't feel people see that enough day to day.
Callula awoke, her heart beating fast. It was a Saturday in late Autumn, her room was cold and she snuggled into her blanket smiling away the chill and ice that came from her windows. Her red plaid pajama pants kept her warm as she hopped out of bed but her small grey t-shirt did not so she tied her blanket around her as a cape. Smiling at her best friend and pet, a green-eyed cat sleeping on a blanket in her bay window, she opened her door and tip-toed down the stairs on the open wood floor and darted into the kitchen to eat some breakfast. She got ready by noon (clothes are not a necessity, they're simply for beautifying or warming purposes), when the party wasn't even until six that night. Her family, although not quite as happy as Callula, greeted her with a smile and she played cards with her siblings, laughing and singing oddly until about 5:30 when people began to show up. Cousins from all around began to show up; cousins she hadn't seen since last year, cousins she had just seen yesterday, and friends... lots of friends. Her best friend for years came, along with newly made friends who were joyful and full of energy. After eating a southern homemade dinner(if you haven't had one, I'm internally crying for you), Callula and her friends ran to the lake and swung off of branches and ropes into the freezing water to make it to the trampoline sitting in the middle of the lake. Once there, they jumped and laughed at their own mistakes until the fireworks made it into the night sky. Callula loved fireworks and suddenly the sweet sound of music made it to their ears. The four friends sat and looked at each other, their bright hearts showing through their kind smiles. The fireworks illuminated their eyes and the sound of a guitar, drums, and joyful singing echoed across the lake. The four friends smiled as they sang Believe by Shawn Mendes into the night. The lake had promptly become still when the jumping ceased and Calulla looked over the lake to her family on the lawn. She looked to the stars and smiled at the beauty of her surroundings swaying with pure joy. After Callula's family left she and her friends walked down the streets, the lights shining an orange glow onto the pavement. They made it to a tall hill close to Callula's house where you could see the city from miles away. They smiled and wondered what others were doing, coming up with stories for passing Viscets. To end the night, the four friends made it back to Callula's house and hung up lights, lasers and everything bright and colorful. They watched a movie and danced through the night until sleep overcame them near four in the morning. At the light of the next day Callula awoke, smiling at the sight of her sleeping friends and was grateful to have them.
I felt I could have written a story about rainforest waterfalls, pyramid caverns, sandy beaches and oceans, Halloween, Christmas, or a thousand other things but this... this is where her story needs to start. I know it's nothing overly interesting or crazy but it shows her personality and lifestyle. There was no holiday or event celebrated, family, love, and joy were enough for them to celebrate. Honestly, I had some more I was considering adding but this story seems complete without anything; although I can't wait to create new ones.
I fully intend on creating a thousand other stories (although probably more like 60 haha); I just feel like this character has so much potential and golly is she beautiful!
