How to adopt:

My adopts are interactive c: you can talk to this villager! His name is Loren (loh-ren). You can ask him anything and he will respond! You have until the closing date to win him over <3

Loren tucks a stray curl behind his ear. “Um. I used to run in any weather but,” he has a faraway look in his eyes, “I don’t anymore.” He is quiet for a moment, then adds, “I like the rain though.” He blushes.
Status: slightly melancholy, but warming up

Loren’s ears perk up. He is watching you intently, like you said the magic word. “Books? Good? Yeah. Actually. I just read Flowers for Algernon. Some people say it’s too sad. And it is… heavy, but the words stayed with me after I finished. I think that makes-a-good-book-when-they-imprint-on-you.” He got so flustered towards the end that all his words jumbled together. He is staring very hard at his umbrella handle now.

Loren is gazing up at the forest’s canopy. Raindrops sprinkle down and patter a light rhythm atop his umbrella. “Yeah… I’ve been wanting to go for a run all day. I finally had enough and came out anyway.” He sighs. “Walkings not the same. You ever itch to do something but can’t? how do you deal?”
Status: feeling pent up but enjoys the rain at least

The sky above rumbles. The rain comes down in a fine mist. Everywhere you look, the bathed plant life shines a vivid green. “Soothing? Hm. Yeah. I agree,” he answers softly. “I like all the sounds. There’s nothing like it. What about you?”
Status: pleased about the weather and thinkin about rain

Loren turns his head this way and that. Then he spots it. The little snail marching over the stump. The tip of his tail wags. “I didn’t notice before. Kinda cute. Do you… uh, collect bugs? I am,” he pauses to rub the back of his neck, “not very good at it.”

> That is such a good, but sad, one! I think some sorrow can be really worth it - especially with literature. It really makes you think. I will say though, I've been reading a whole lot of non-fiction recently. Just the other day I read a local book on sustainable gardening on the island, and it really got me wondering about the relationships between all sorts of plants.... It's theorized that lots of plants even talk to each other, through fungal root networks and pheromonal exchanges, and I think that's beyond cool. There's so much to be learned from plants and fungi!
