Morning Glory herds are domesticated, and they'll be primarily bred for stats or looks. I know stat breeding can probably take awhile, so I'm not too overly intent on just stats. Breeding for color combos can be extremely enjoyable, so I plan to, hopefully do a mix of both at the same time! I'm planning on using my herd to tie in with my herding dogs uma's and horse uma's. Meaning there will be canonical cattle drives were my horses, and dogs all come together in one canon universe!!
Which I'm excited about because I can finally have one cohesive "story line" if you want to call it that! I got to get on making a cowboy crew to take care of my herd lol. Morning Glory Farms will be my main farm where all my livestock uma's will reside, if I ever get into any more.
I think my main goal for my ABH cattle herd is to have fun and not get to stressed about the minor detail, like making it to realistic or anything. ABH cattle are honestly so cute, it caught my eye immediately! I hope to make some friends and collect these cute little cows!

It won't be "me" running Morning Glory Farms it'll be an Oc of mine, so I'll write about their lore! His name is Gale Hudson, 25 years old, average height, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, with an olive skin tone. He's a determined individual, levelheaded, and quick on his feet.
Gale use to be a just a drover for Morning Glory Farms, a flank rider who worked his way up to Segundo, second in command to the Trail Boss. He had grown close to the previous owner of Morning Glory Farms, a sort of pseudo-son to the old man that had no children of his own.
He had left
everything, to Gale when he died, the farm, the money, the cattle, everything.
It was a huge source of contention among the old mans distant family, they've been relentless in their pursuit of the inheritance. The surrounding ranches, view him as too young, a lucky upstart, they hold no respect for Gale. Not when their own farms had been passed down from generation to generation, old ranch blood that runs deep, roots running back to the first settlers.
Gale's up for a hard road, but he's perseverant. He has to be.
Optional Prompt :4 200 words
My founder is a bull named Lucy. Short for Lucifer, of course. Lucy's a handle full on a good day and an unruly, stubborn, menace on a bad one.
He rules the roost, so to speak. Bullying the younger bulls into submission and being a general nuisance to the ranch hands.
He regularly escapes his designated pasture and harasses any and all creatures he encounters. It is not uncommon to find him charging some poor small creature that had the unfortunate
fate of wandering through Lucy's path. Or guarding a tree that he chased some poor critter up.
Lucy was always a soft spot for Gale. The little bull calf had tried to kick him in the head, just a little over an hour after his birth. He had become Gale's favorite then and there.
Luckily Lucy makes strong calves, always a touch mellower than their sire. But feisty enough to be trouble for any future predators.
Gale supposes maybe he's the reason Lucy acts like such a spoiled brat, but he can't find it in himself to regret it.
(Fun fact, Lucy is an actual bull calf I named, after it tried to kick my cousin in the face.

Morning Glory Farms is almost always moving cattle, up to multiple times a week. The frequency changes depending on the season with winter being the slowest season of them all.
The day starts early typically between 4:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. but the earlier the better. Some tasks include, checking the health of the livestock, feeding them, making sure that generally everything is up and operational for the day.
Gale specifically gets stuck with inventory management and paperwork most days, but he always makes time to help his Trail Boss move the cattle and do some manual labor himself. He'd be miserable if he just left all the daily tasks up to his ranch hands. Some other daily chores are to maintain the fences, the equipment, check gates, and inspect the farm and pastures.
All these things are vital for the day to run smoothly.
Gale has been lucky that his former fellow drovers have stuck with him, he earned their respect long ago and the transition between ownership was as smooth as butter on that front. That's one of the few blessings in this whole ordeal.
Just as the day starts early, it ends late as well. Always concluding with Gale collapsing into bed, asleep before his head hits the pillow.
