			fable name: Tauriel
dream: Waves crashed softly against the shore as Tauriel gazed out onto the water. Sea birds called out for their mates as a salty breeze passed through, ruffling her hair. Everything seemed to be peace, it should've been perfect in all honesty. The setting sun was even lending some of it warmth so that the air was comfortable. And yet, still it felt as if she was missing something. There was an unsettling emptiness deep inside her that she couldn't ignore. Nickering, she unfolded herself from her the sand and turned her back to the sun.
Each step that she took away from the ocean was punctuated by a bird's sharp call. It beckoned her to come back. Each time getting louder until she stepped into the tree line. Then there was silence. So sudden it was disorientating and she spun in a sharp circle. Nothing but trees surrounded her now. It was like seeing a childhood home. A safe and familiar place, but at the same time too small. You've outgrown this place, you've seen so much of the world. Distinctly changed, different from the person you once were.
She continued on, a path carving itself from the ground beneath her hooves. Voices she knew called for her.
"Tauriel! Tauriel, I bid you to come look at this flower. It has finally begun to bloom."
The well worn path led her to a clearing. Another fable, one she knew, one she was fond of, stood waiting for her.
"Isn't it beautiful, sit for a while with me." The fable said. When she didn't move, he turned to her.
"Are you alright?" He asked her, a worried look in his eyes.
She smiled ruefully, how odd. She did not know what was wrong with her. Still the emptiness persisted in a place which was supposed to have helped her. The woods could only hold her for so long. Leaning forward, careful of her horns sharp point. She rested her forehead against his in farewell. "I have to go. I have to find what is plaguing my soul so heavily."
Between one step and the next, the soft crunch of leaves was replaced with the click clacking of her hooves on stone floor. This should've alarmed her, but it was comforting instead. Like a heartbeat that her feet knew the rhythm of. Determination filled her. The tunnel stretched on and on, for minutes, hours, days. Time ceased to exist as she kept plodding along. Finally when she felt she could walk no more, an opening appeared out of the darkness. She steeled herself and in she went.
The room was so dark that details were lost and everything was washed in gray. In the center of the room was a pile of pillows, a body lying within. She couldn't make out their face, but that was alright. She knew this fable. Quietly so as to not disturb his rest, she slunk forward and settled herself around him. She nuzzled his mane fondly, breathing in the scent that filled that emptiness as if it was never there.
A whisper so soft, it was meant for one ear only. "I'm back, did you miss me?"
When she awoke, the sea birds song and waves greeted her.
