One Sunday afternoon, while up on the hillside by the human settlement, he saw humans whacking each other with what looked like silver sticks. But then he saw what he assumed to be the masters of the craft, almost dancing as they fought each other. Now every Sunday afternoon he will travel to that hillside, pick up his own weapon (a very cared for stick) and learn alongside the humans. For now his foes have only been trees, but soon he hopes to face the predators of the mountains and maybe even pass on his knowledge to other WMEs.

He puts two hooves on each skii, and off he goes! Not that he's even aware of it, but he only backcountry skiis. Ungroomed snow for this equid! Maybe someday he'll figure out what a helmet is. . . .
