Here's a special prompt... To win this cat,
share with me your favorite poem for me to base them off of!
I'll choose based on what gives me the best idea.

Whatever piece of poetry makes you feel something,
no matter the length or detail (cs friendly of course).
Don't forget to link your source!
Also, to encourage creativity, anyone who writes their *OWN* poem
as an entry will be guaranteed an RU from me! It can be a haiku,
it can be a sonnet, anything as long as you made it with your own mind ^^

This will end on december 15th, or the top of page 3.

Tis a limerick...maybe

Two frogs sat atop of my house
A bit larger than a regular mouse!
when threatened to leave
The one began to plead,
"Oh please not in front of my spouse!"

    Doubt —
    a wing-cast shadow
    a broken word of sorrow

    ripples a-light on raintouched waters
    deafening the roar
of a pin drop in silence

    curling, shriveling
    wilting, churning
    sinking
    the deliberate cold encircling

in quiet solace a sliver e-merge
    the solemn moment to realize
    some meaning

    rather — lack of.

Romance through the post
My heart measured in miles
Not strange but new

An unfolding road
Not behind but at distance
New but not strange

Uncertainty yields
Melancholy, though always
We share the same stars

prompt: I’m not very familiar with writing freeform poetry yet, hopefully it’s not too unreadable haha!

You’re young and carefree. Stars bloom up above, moss dampening your fur,
but you don’t mind. You see her then, chasing bugs through the brush.
She looks up and her eyes meet yours and they’re green, like
emeralds nestled deep beneath slate. Your heart is changed.

She counts your scars, and you count hers, explaing them with stories
shrouded in exaggeration. Her half-truths are exciting, now.
She wants to move to the city. You’re not sure, but you’re still young,
swayed by her glamour. You’d do anything for her.
There’s a hopeful glimmer in her eyes, green like lichen, growing in your fur
until you’re green too. Your life is changed.

This city is haunted. You can’t bear it. Branches crack underpaw, brittle
bark like scattered bones. You slip in a ditch, dark oil trickling like a
sick creek. Cracked buildings glisten, slick with condensation.
Silent and eerie, moon looming high and ripe in the sky.
Not even clouds dare to break curfew. The city has changed.

Predators lurk through rubble, claws scraping like a death knell. She
says you’re too worried. You can’t look her in the eye, green like
algae in stagnant water.
There are kittens playing by the fire, but you can’t make yourself
look at them. Will they make it through winter? The world has changed.

Warm bodies press together, stifling, suffocating, sour tang in your stomach.
This isn’t right. Green eyes flash, catching yours from
across the room— she wants to comfort you,
but it’s like twisting a claw in a wound. Green like a snapping turtle
beaneath the surface of a frozen pond. She’s changed.

And you don’t trust her anymore. And you try to stop them, but
the words tumble out. And
you’re lying in the snow with fresh blood on your lips,
a successful hunt, but your stomach won’t stop hurting.
Your reflection won’t stay still, dark fur invisible
against brackish water. You’ve changed.

prompt: Sonnet, written by me :]

Through the eyes of a sallow lady

Oh my love I shall tell thou, The way my mind wanders when I look to thee
Your eyes shine and sparkle, like stars in the dark night sky
With your dips and waves, your strength and form show me the great sequoia tree
Your hair with its rich red, as if colored with crimson dye

The way your pen and mind are one when you write, words flowing like Graves¹
Your voice with its deep elegance, as melodic as the siren’s song
The curl of your hair as it frames your face, like the sea’s waves
Your arms and the way they wrap perfectly around me, as if that is where I belong

The vibrant blue of your eyes, like the feathers of a macaw²
Your hands scarred and rough, but of so delicate when they write me words of love
The way your voice steals my breath, with the slight of a jackdaw³
Your stories and sonnets oh so breathtaking and sad, like the call of the mourning dove⁴

I bid you my love a farewell, for soon I succumb to death’s spell
I hope that when you get this letter, you can see what I saw before I heard my death knell⁵

Hi, I'm Mahogany! I use he/vey/sun <3 I like character creation and Warriors. Sometimes I like to take pictures, although I wouldn't really call myself a photographer. The leaves here are actually two halves of a picture I took in Germany!

Until We Meet Again

I bound and leap and jump and skip,
I zig and zag and dip and zip.
The bright green grass and wonderful smells,
the butterflies and flowers- oh look! Is that a doggy hotel?

The warm, shining sun and the soft rustling of trees,
this beautiful tranquility really puts me at ease.
Not to mention the sweet, sweet treats,
nothing could ever have this experience beat.

I see familiar faces from years long gone,
their recognizable scents surely had me drawn.
A Pomeranian named Lady, as fluffy as cotton candy,
A Labrador named Rocko, as goofy as can be.

A Siamese named Simon, oh he's a troublemaker!
A Sphynx named Moon, harsh words couldn't break her.
The final face, round and squishy, ears stood tall,
Elisa the bunny, oh she was so small.

There was one more missing, how I missed them so.
"But it's just how things are!" I know, but the ache won't go.
I take a peek across the bridge, a soft mew escapes me,
but no familiar face was waiting, where I thought they'd oughta be.

With a slow blink, I turn and run off with my old friends,
Through the meadows and through the forest bends.
In the twilight’s soft, golden tinge,
We’ll reunite -- our spirits free -- at the rainbow bridge.

clan: PrecipiceClan.
name: Pallas.
age: Thirty moons.
gender: Female.
prompt: Ekphrastic. 225 words.

Pallas Athena, by LOSTINUNKNOWN.

Honeyed words, I implore, to what extent Muses our
time held recall when glorious Pallas Athena made
visit at the wave-washed island of Libya in
the turning to the yearly festival of Athena?
Many of us, our merit built no higher
than the dead. Clad in bronze armor-plate
and yet over it draped a handsome cape of crimson
as she burst out, phlegmatic, “How shameful - heady to celebrate of which you know nothing of; the ties, it to myself, reaching forever.”
A spear tipped with a bronze point akin shifted back and
forth in her grip, poised to break the ranks
of many man and god wide open.

Now I unearth, in the vivid recreation of the event aforementioned -
dated to 1657, upon the month I came to exist -
that what strove the accusation of Athena was
the fact of Pallas, a nymph fell at her hand whom
she grew attachment to. Her gray eyes gleaming
and head tilted aside, mind churning in displeasure
for the deemed disrespect, yet unjust to slaughter therein.
Delving further, I press her stoic. The umber, tresses neat,
from the helmet an owl perched. I record with warmth;
winged words a torrent, then flurry questions, and weary acquiescence at last.
She, I gather, knew the throes that came in grief,
as human as a goddess can be.
